A couple of very exciting days down in OPB's lab between this CPU and his X2. Hopefully school is out and he can focus on his real work now. :) Keeping it xtreme and pimping a little memory on the side. ;)

WHta kinda Job do you have may iask didnt you have an X2 the other day.. wis hi was rich :( OPB isn't rich but he has xtremely good credit. Gskill should give him a raise though for all memory he's sold. Did anyone even know GSkill 18 months ago?

Does it matter from where OPB gets his money? Does it matter what his salary is or what he does with it? I keep asking myself this question which is - why won't people understand it's rude to speculate about what other people earn? I mean it's not much to ask people to just keep the thread on topic and not go into these types of discussion. I think some people should be ashamed of themselves.

Now about the overclock! Good job on "just" single stage! Can't wait to see what she does on your cascade! :)

4.1GHz would be nice but if there is a cold bug...... I have to believe there is one, and OPB was anticipating it, so he went with his new single stage first. The "tuning" on the cascade he mentioned may be him and PC-ICE developing a work around technique or scaling back the performance on the cascade so it doesn't trip the bug.

He got his x2 from me. :) And I'll tell you right now that he wasn't able to get the cpu because he offered the most money. I was just simply reciprocating a favor he had done for me in the past. In this industry, you'd be surprised how little money comes into play in regards to obtaining rare/pre-released cpu's. What matters much, much more is who you know....... ;)

If the rumors are correct, it's not a matter of the core's which cause the cold-bug. It's the onboard memory controller. If the 55 has the cold-bug, the 57 may not since it will have a stronger memory controller.

Why pay $800 for a FX when you can get a 3700+ for under half of that? :D Because the goal is 4.05Ghz with San Diego ;)

Nice looking chip. I really hope that all the new SD FX chips perform this well, although I am still skeptical until I see some more results. I would love to just buy one of these and be done with wasting money on cheap CPUs because I have the worst luck with them :\. Bravo and good luck with the world record!

go OPB go! that chip is looking pretty impressive. does it still scale with more voltage, or is anything past 1.5v pointless?

as a side note, i think we should start a fund to buy OPB a month's worth of meat ;)

How about 32m?:D
is every 3700+ as good as yours? I don't think so. :p:

3300mhz PI stable is useless? It will smoke your 3000 without even trying;)

Sorry useless is wrong word  But if it doesn't work at such low temps the clawhammer will stay the better choice for insane world OC records :) And my S754 3000+ sucks, i know but i don't have money anymore ;)

What this CPU does at Single stage is insane  It is faster than Claw at such temps which is a good sign :)

IIRC it does 32m also. Seems to be perfectly stable @ 3360Mhz. Been too busy suicidebenching @ ~3450Mhz, so I haven´t had time for much stability tests yet.

Just got a new x800xt, so ill be playing with it tonight. But if Ill se if I can squeese inn a 32m run aswell :)

For once I concider my self to be lucky. I dont think every 3700+ is going to be as good as this.
