Was at 415/1165 and has AS5 stock cooler 1.4 volts, anyways, I was playing doom 3 then all the sudden I got this ASCII art like stuff on the screen and it rebooted and is still doing it, tried blind flashing with different cards... Im on a generic 300w atm so idk if its that but I tried putting the card on its own dedicated 200w PSU and still didnt help. If I clean up the AS5 think I might be able to RMA it? And what could of caused it? I dont think increasing 65mhz would of killed it that easily :-/

Stupid questions ahead :p:

Was the fan on the heatsink working, does it work now? What temps were you at? Any static discharge when this happened? Bizzare power spikes or dips when this happened? The weird symbols on the screen, is it just 3dmode or is it whenever there is an output? Video cable fully seated , card fully seated in agp slot? Dirty agp slot contacts? Try the other video output? Try a different monitor? Try it in another comp? Try different drivers? What driver were you using? This corruption on the screen, is it displayed even while your comp is posting ? Any visible damage or "burnt electronics" smell ?

Some things to look into / think about, I'm sure there are more.....

It does work and it was working. Temps were around 70 C or so. I don't think there was any static discharge or power spikes. Symbols are at boot, so whenever theres an output. I tried different monitor, pc, cleaning off the agp slot, agp connectors letting it sit for a few hours (thought maybe it overheated a bit). Its when its posting, no funny smells from the card... Maybe it was jsut defective ram :/

Your carb might have blown as a result of power spikes. A 300 watt generic psu is no where near enough to run a 6800U. Do you know anyone that has a 500 watter that you can try out? Just might be RMA time.

I dont have or know anyone who has a higher wattage PSU. Like I said before I used AS5 on the card I took it off and put white stuff back on should I be in the clear? *hides*
