Hi all..
I just installed a VF700-Cu on my x850xt and it installed fine but something seemed weird to me and I want to make sure its normal..
Once its all snug I can fell the heatsink move a little from side to side.. Its not much at all but im just used to sinks not moving at all so I just wanted to make sure its normal for this sink...
Temps dont seem alot different then my stock cooler.. Idle is about the same 38c and load has dropped from 58-60c to 52-53c so far and im sure once the as5 breaks in it might get better..
Thanks lot..

that's alot better than stock cooler :) and since the stock one is already badass..the zalman is even more badass by dropping teh temps that much more!!!

i dont think those temps are good at all, what TIM are you using with it, the stuff they provide in the package is not very good at all. When i put this cooler on my X800 Pro it didnt move at all.

Hmmm.. i gotta look over the install.. I read the instructions .. Maybe its hotter in my room tonight too..
The movement doesnt seem normal and thats what concerns me..

i love my zalman, dropped my temps. load is never above 43c now, i love it.
I saw you post this in another thread.. I was wondering about your ambient temps ?

I dont get it last night I remounted it and double\triple checked everything.. Ive mounts many heatsink before and this one is far from hard..

Above is the way it moves.. and dont laugh at my skill with photoshop..lol
When I say it moves its prolly 1cm.. very very little.. But I dont think it should be like this.. To me it the fact that its moving makes me think its not putting enough pressure on the core.. Also that compared to the stock cooler the zalman is barely making it cooler which is a disapointment to me..

You see in the pic above I marked the nipples ( as they are called in the manual..lol ) one and two.. I noticed two is shorter then one and tonight I might try to swap them .. This will make the shorter one on the top and hopefull make more pressure to the core..
If this dont work back on goes the stock cooler.. :(

good idea to put a PCI slot blower just under the vf700 (not covering the heatsink!!) that sucks air out the back. It will drop your temps more.

I read your thread too..actually I think I have one of those in a draw somewhere.. :D
Im just concerned about it not feeling as tight to the core as it should.. But im gona try and swap those nipples (lol) tonight and see if that helps it get tighter..

Get those nipples ;)
Your idle temps could go 5°C down, load temps will be about the same :)

mine wiggles slightly (less than 1/4mm) on my 9700pro with the short ones on the top side, but my temps still beat the modded Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer rev2 i was using before.

Ok cool .. I prolly got my measurements way off by saying 1cm..lol..
Tomorrow night im gona swap the nipples and see if that helps the temps a little.. I guess the stock cooler is not that bad because my temps are not a huge difference from stock.. But then again it is getting a little hotter out now too so that could be why also ..
Thanks alot..
