I want to buy one of those MB, but at this moment I`m not shore what would be better between Abit and MSi. I would like to specify that I own an Winchester 3000 that runs stable at 2700, and 2X512 Corsair TCCD`s. If anyone cold give me some info about them, wich would be more suitable for Oc, and stability. Thanks
I have the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum. My opinion of this board is that I don't like it! It seems to work well enough at stock, but there are a few quirks with it.
I didn't like vdimm being so low, max is 2.85v.
Also, CPU Max volts is 1.7 and in my case, it undervolts by 0.5v (using Enermax 480w PSU), and fluctuates quite a lot.
As I was overclocking, it didn't seem to have any pattern to it at all, ie. some frequencies would work, like at 300MHz FSB, but not 270MHz (I made sure that the HTT multiplier was ok).
I have cold boot problems too, they appear to be totally random (a reset or two usually fixes this, and I usually leave my system on 24/7)
I currently run it with a Winchester 3000+ and my max o/c was 2.4GHz (although it is a 05 January chip) on watercooling.
I haven't used the setup for 3 months now, since I'm away from my computer.
Also, bios updates might have fixed some of the problems I have mentioned, but I am not sure.
However, I've just got hold of the DFI NF4 Ultra-D and I can definetely say that it seems to be a much better board than the MSI, although it has a few quirks of its own too, but with so many of the community here owning a DFI, most problems are either already known or resolved quickly enough. Is there any particular reason why you arem't considering the DFI? It's generally regarded as the best S939 NForce4 M/B currently.

You should really consider the DFI NF4, its hands down the best OCing A64 MB around.

Yeah, thanks
Is Neo4 any good (stability/performance wise) if it's not used to oc?
