Compared with two 6800 Ultra in SLI, ATI's Crossfire should end up about 10 per cent faster in 3Dmark05 benchmark, about 30 percent in Splinter cell C.T game and more than 60 percent in Need For Speed Underground 2 game. ATI is talking about results gathered from testing SLI and Crossfire platforms on 1600x1200 resolution, with 4X FSAA and 8X aniso, Athlon 64, 1GB DDR 400 memory, RD480 motherboard with 8.151 driver. ATI used two X850 XT Crossfire cards versus Asus SLI Deluxe board, 71.89 drivers, and two 6800 Ultra cards in SLI
Very interesting!

Both sides will come out with numbers and most likely the differences will just come down to personal taste...as with single cards. Sure even the XL does better in HL2 than the Ultra, but that doesnt mean ppl arent gonna buy the ultra. Same applies here. Heck, this only rejuvenates the recently dry sli market as now you have three choices...To go Crossfire, To go SLI, or to stay single gpu. Not to mention that at the end of the day, it all comes down to drivers ;) .
Meh...makes little diff to me unless you have juicy R520 info :p:

It's a good bet that two of ATI's current cards will beat out two of NVIDIA's, one x850xt is faster than one 6800u. But since this comes from Fuad I'm sure it's completely fabricated.
We need to stop sourcing the Inq and Reg for news. When their articles are truthful, which is not often, they are very biased. These sites are fun to read, but people need to understand that you can't believe anything they say.

PerkamThree, actually. Intel has its "SLI". Furthermore, wasn't VIA coming out with some sort of "SLI" thingy, or was it just Dual-GFX for Dual-Displays?
