hello.i am looking for some clarification on the vtt mod for ic7g mb.
in hipros guide-page10
http://www.thelab.gr/reviews/ic7mods_en10.php
-trace is cut by mc50,and 1 wire runs from top edge of mc50 to hook up to 10 ohms smd resistor that is soldered onto "bottom" of mc39
-wire then routes up to the trimmer,& the ground goes to mc16

in malves guide-vtt mod

http://www.malvescorner.net/images/ic7vtt.jpg
-a trace by mc39 is cut, instead of the trace by mc50 in hipros guide
-wire goes from mc39 to trimmer,as does wire from mc50,and like hipros guide the ground goes to mc16
-no 10 ohms resistor is used in malves vtt mod, or is the resistor by the trimmer that the picture does`nt show??
as i am going to do this mod now myself,i would really like this clarified somehow.i have been practising soldering small wires to smd resistors,on an old mb.also learning to get the feel on cutting traces, and that is going well
thank you

You can pick either one, bro.:)

MC50 is connected to MC39, I just cut the trace on a different spot. I also don't use the 10ohms fixed resistor. I just use the trimmer and ground it at MC16. The reason it is grounded is to help stabilize VTT when modded.

thnx malves.so is this correct then, you have both the mc39 wire and the mc50 wire going to the top leg of the trimmer.ground to mc16.
as for the trace that you cut,it is the brown? trace running just below the white line -012 in your guide.kinda hard to see with the bare eye,but shows up good with a magnifying glass
thnx
