Hey

I have gotten my Twinmos Speed Premium PC3200 with UTT-CH5 chips to 245MHz 2-2-2-5 @~3.4v but I cant seem to get em higher.. So I was thinking of trying another bios, and hoping for a better OC.. So, which bios will be the best for my MSI K8N Neo2 and the ram?
Also, anyone have som particular A64 tweaker settings which will gain me higher OC or higher bandwith, without changing the vdimm voltage above the 3.4v?
And what waltage would u recommend for 24/7, I know there is a lot of threads about that, but I cant seem to find a particular and clear answer.. And I get a bad feeling when going above the 3.4v :stick:
My ram is cooled very good, and doesnt get hot at all! :)

Thx in advance :toast:

Well, i'm using in this moment 1.8 Oficial bios with my UTT-BH (OCZ) and has worked very well. 1.5 and 1.6 i dont see any difference in overclockeablity with this memories. 260 2-2-2-6 over 3200+ Winchester.

250 Mhz 2-2-2-6 (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v678/OCcorvus_corax/OCs/250N-F.png) Normally
260MHz 2-2-2-6 SP1M 31.656s (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v678/OCcorvus_corax/OCs/260-F.gif) Semi Optimized :)

Coming soon i will prove luck on DFI NF4

A question...how do you cool the dimms?, because i'm using XP-90 too, but the space between heatsink and memories is very reduced, i use a thermaltake smart case 80mm fan for memories and other for DDR booster.

3.4v with a fan above should be safe for a 24/7 setup I would think. As long as you've got cool air blowing on the RAM you should be fine :toast:

I have mounted a 120mm fan om my XP90. The fan is quite powerfull as it blows like 100Cfm on the ram. Besides that, I have a 80mm fan with a duct pointed from the right side (5.25") drivebay blowing like 28cfm on the ram too.. Very heavy cooling!!

But sadly the 3.4v will only get me to 240-245MHz, so I was wandering how 3.6v would be for everyday use?

Hi , ive got the same memory and board and i cant get over 245 no matter how many volts i give the memory my memory will chug along all day at 240 with 3.2v in memtest (although to get into windows 3.4v is needed) so im guessing that it is the board not liking the twinmos that is holding us back adn yes ive tryed various bioses none seem to make a diffrence.

Have u also tried the new 1.8, I just testet with 3.5v and it would give me 2-2-2-5 @250Mhz, which was impossible with the 1.5 bios that I used before.
I havent testest any higher yet, but it will come when I get my hands down

it is possible that the ram has reached its limite. 245mhz for UTT ain't bad

i dont think i tested it to the maxx with 1.8 as i quickly setteld in the 1.36mod due to all the volt settings working, i might give it a try as my x800 has just broke  so no CS:S for me for a whyle and lots of free time.

Ok AFRS, Im looking forward to seeing some results with the 1.8 bios!

well 250 is a no go zone with the 1.8mod, although when comparing it with the 1.36mod @ 250 there are defiantly less errors in winmemtest. however im satying with the 1.36mod as i use the 166 divider with the mem at around 230 and need the extra CPU volts which only the 1.36mod can give me (im too lazy for core cell).
something that i did find interesting though, my memory seems to get worse (more errors) when i start giving it more than 3.4v, would giving it a bit of a burn in at say 3.5v break the memory in to these higher voltages or have i hit the limit for my ch-5, and all that would be doing is damaging them?
oh and for the record mem cooling isnt a problem - xp120 with 125cfm going through it.

It might not be cooled well enough, check how the air flow is in your case and check the fans

the side is off the case so air flow isnt rearly an issue, oh and when i tested the window was open and speedfan was showing an ambient of 15c, so i i said before cooling isnt a problem.

I was wondering if some tweaking in A64-tweaker could help me get a little higher og at least get a little more bandwith without changing vdimm? Im not good at using that prog, so I figured u guys could help me :D
Right now my settings is as on the picture below.

Pic aint working but if you put Tref to 7.8us and bypass max to 7x these seem to give the greatest bandwidth increace although i cant comment on stability, give them a try and see.
i was also thinking that someone should write up a UTT guide in the mem tweaks section, any takers?

Im working on uploading a pic ;) Its harder to get this damn FTP to work the right way :P
Edit: I uploadet it as a PNG and now its working, great!
U mean 200MHz 7.8us?

AFRS

yea 200mhz 7.8us, or if your using the 166 divider then 166 7.8

Ok, Ill try that.. Also, I actually think my bandwith is quite low considering im running as I showed on the screenshot earlier.
Sisoft Sandra reports:
Bandwith Int: 7079
Bandwith Float: 6988

Is this really normal?

Edit: Just tried the 200MHz 7.8us thingy and it made my bandwith drop by 500Mb/s!! Wft is happening? :wth:

For my with UTT-BH, i use a tREF=200Mhz 15.6us because i check more stability compared with others like 200Mhz 3.9us for example. Bypass Max = 7x and Max Async Latency 7ns. Something more, i used Drive Strengh = weak. This option is a hidden feature in MSI Bios (Shift+F2 and then ALT+F3).

Wont the weak drivestrength give u a much lower bandwith? And does it help in gaining more MHz?
