Develops the handset battery using the nuclear power or somewhat to be rather fresh, sounds rather some terrors, as soon as mentioned the nucleus (Nuclear) the people can natural think of the atomic bomb □□毁灭性 antipersonnel weapon. But, the peaceful use nuclear power will be able to give people's production life to bring the very big convenience, for example nuclear power electricity generation. The handset battery 续航 the ability always was the handset and the fitting manufacturer research and development key point, the battery 续航 the ability directly has also affected handset itself the popularity, nobody hoped after all handset electric quantity consumption excessively quickly, nobody hoped forced because of the province electricity oneself to shield the handset 娱乐性, such also violated the handset technology unceasingly to progress and the development original intention, that was the handset factory is not willing to see, also was the consumer cannot accept. On the other day, American New York Rochester (Rochester) the university developed a section battery primary form, the plan was in the radioactive gas, caught the free electron using the silicon atom, had the energy. But in the plan radioactive gas, uses is the tritium (one kind of hydrogen isotope, is one kind of manual synthesis matter, its radioactivity is extremely weak).

after hearing of some battery accidents with cell phones and ibooks... i dont think i would give this battery a try :stick:

Imagine setting your laptop on your lap for a few hours a day knowing that their is radioactive material in there. Man, I'd be afraid of radiation messing up my junk. LOL

Ok, its hard for me to tell if this is exactly the same thing, but I saw something very similar to this on some other site (science site not tech site).
If this is the same battery (which I believe it to be) then it is a low voltage battery that is designed for uses where changing the battery is not feasible such as remote bridge and structure sensors. The battery is essentially a small radioactive element surrounded by tritium. If I find the article I read I will edit my post and put the link in. In the article I read however, they never stated that the battery was ever designed for, or would be used in a a laptop or cellphone type situation, and I gathered that the voltage output of the battery was far too low for that usage anyways.
EDIT : My bad, tritium is the radioactive fuel, it is placed in a porous silicon matrix type thingy. Also there is no mention of it being low voltage...I made that up....read the thing a long time ago lol.

What a stupid idea.
Just another way of terrorists getting there hands of Radioactive materials. Personlly id rather have a battery die after a couple hours then have a nuclear battery powering my notebook ....

lol, it will be only very little radioactive, i doubt you could ever build a bomb with those batteries :D
but the question remains? do we want a radioactive battery even if its only slghtly radioactive? i dont! :D

Lol reminds me of the crap back when the PS2 launched, people worried that you could rip the chip out of them and make a cruise missle with it lol. It was like "ohs nos 100 ps2's shipping to iraq?!?!!!? that's 100 cruise missles by tomorrow"
Just made me laugh :D

That's obviously the Bush/Cheney propaganda talking. Radiation is everywhere.. its what gives you a tan. Radon gas in the basement.. thats radiation too. Ever been to a hospital... they have radiation up the whazoo... if we were to stop using radiation because the terrorists (oooohhhh ... they're gonna getcha) can get their hands on it, you'd be out of luck when you get a cavity. If I was you, I would be more concerned about the radiation coming out of your: TV, Computer, cell-phone, than battery....
nuclear battery is just progress....
