Amazing.

"Some associates of terrorist groups may be involved in IPR crime," Stedman said. "During the course of our investigations, we have encountered suspects who have shown great affinity for Hezbollah and its leadership."

It appears some associates of terrorists might be involved in illegal activities! No way!

So people who buy counterfeit items are funding illegal groups/persons.

Great brainstorming folks! Keep the US on its feet!

Well i do rememberthe IRA used to generate a hell of a lot of cash through the pirate Video scene. Thats why we was under orders to report any video sellers we saw.

Yeah, well, guess you can have a clean conscience as long as you don't *buy* any pirates, eh? :woot:

this is really funny considering that while in iraq, my cousin bought many many bootleg DVDs. He was fighting against the terrorists and these people think he was helping fund them too.

samething for us really. But i never made it to iraq for the first one just into kuwait as far as the border was good enough for us then. :)

That's a little ridiculous, why don't people say buying gasoline supports terrorism because most gas comes from the middle east :stick:

HiJon as a new yorker do you really understand the NI problem or did you just go around calling the IRA good ole' freedom fighters, and joining in the St Pats parade and saying down with the British while not getting the irony that it was a British parade or have you sussed this terrorism thing yet. I know what youre saying and that but we just used to get all the latset films while doing our bit iver the water and then dob him in :)

"Even though Stedman's evidence is circumstantial [snip]"

"...another witness, Kris Buckner, [snip] said: 'I am also frequently asked if terrorist groups profit from the sale of counterfeit goods. I do not know the answer to that question.'"
