Conclusion
If you’re reading this review, chances are you’re an overclocker. Rest assured, this power supply will run anything you throw at it. There is unlikely to be a better power supply out there, period. I’ve tested a lot of power supplies over the years and never have I had positive rails let alone rock solid rails that do not fluctuate! The +12v rail is astoundingly good, along with the +5.0v rail. In the unlikely event of the rails being under there required level you can adjust the pots and bring them back up again, or down.
With its all black paint job, it looks as good as it performs. The attention to detail is easy to see with its high quality cable braiding as standard and nice touches such as a black fan grill to match the paint job. Internally it is a piece of art that borders on audiophile build quality.
This power supply is not perfect, however. It is noisy, so if silence is one of your goals I suggest you do not short list this one. I have been told by PC P&C that they are working on solution to combat the noise. Knowing these guys it will be something of very high quality. As mentioned earlier in this review, the Delta fan is a detachable fan and is not soldered, so if you carefully select a new fan you could lower the noise yourself, just be careful with your fan choice and make sure it has a reasonably high CFM. The pots for adjusting the rails could be positioned better too. The Turbo-Cool 510 SLI is also expensive. I’ve seen it listed for £160+ which is around £20 more than the OCZ PowerStream 600w, a yet untested power supply here at Pureoverclock. As with everything in life, you get what you pay for and for your money you get the best power supply in the known universe. If you are an overclocker, you will absolutely love this power supply and bask in the knowledge that you can overclock as far as you want, with whatever you want and never have to worry about the integrity of the supplied voltage.
Because of the noise issue I wasn’t sure if I should give the Turbo-Cool a Pure-fect Award, but the Pro’s seriously out way this one lonely Con. Besides, I fear some people reading might email me if I don’t give it the highest possible accolade (you know who you are :P).
