About when do you think the G70 series will be avaible in stores? Going to buy a new comp sometimes in July... so I wonder if should wait and hopefully could afford the cheapest model.

My understanding is that the release date is June 22nd, although that info may have been from the Inq...in which it becomes your perogitive if you believe it or not. It's the closest thing i've seen to a concrete date though. Nvidia may always change it because the original date was leaked.

I'd imagine they'll be around in some kind of retail numbers in July...Although you never know. I'm sure we all remember the last generation's paper launch fiasco on both company's parts...So I wouldn't hold your breath. But i'd imagine you'll see them pop up in July, and you'll prolly see them in larger numbers in the next couple months after that.

I'm glad to see it as a single-slot design. These are the specs floating around:

* 0.11 micron process TSMC (transition later to 90nm)
* 430Mhz core / 1.4GHz 256MB(/512mb?) GDDR3 memory
* 256-bit memory interface
* 38.4GB/s memory bandwidth
* 10.32Bps Fill Rate
* 860M vertices/second
* 24 pixels per clock
* 400MHz RAMDACs
* NVIDIA CineFX 4.0 engine
* Intellisample 4.0 technology
* 64-bit FP texture filtering & blending
* NVIDIA SLI Ready (7800 GTX only)
* DX 9.0 / SM 3.0 & OpenGL 2.0 supported
* G70 comes with 3 models; GTX, GT and Standard
* Single card requires min. 400W PSU with 12V rating of 26A
* SLI configuration requires min. 500W PSU with 12V rating of 34A
* Launch : 22nd of June (That's when NDA reportedly expires anyway)

Who knows how accurate it is...But I guess we'll all know in about a week, after Computex eh?

freakin huge! they should make some sort of dual-PCB design where there are 2 levels or something with a special type of cooling system :p:

ya, that thing is huge, i wish the site wasnt in french, or italian, or wutever language it is, cuz there is an article about the r520, and then theres an article around a pic of an asus modded gfx card or wutever thats glowing blue ....

and yes, ferrari_freak, you will learn in time, about computers, and about cars, hopefuly you will learn alot about both, for they are a couple of the most important things ever in a man's life :)

Oh lol. Well I just thought you were since it said "I'm with stupid" but anyways yeah, I am pretty stupid with computers. All of my friends consider me a pro but I don't get everything you guys say on XS. But I'm still learning :D Plus the computer I have was bought by my dad from the store so the parts dont OC at all. RAM: 100MHz OCed to 133MHz unstable :(

Sorry do double post but I just read what you said and this is what I have to say: I believe 100% in what your saying, it's only that my parents don't believe that.... They think I'm thinking all about wasting money and I'm like, "Dad! Those are the most important things!" If only they understood... Can't wait till I get a job, then I'll be going liquid and going Ferrari :cool:

Agreed. Don't wanna delay ordering parts for my build any more. Can't wait. Anyways, this is kinda off topic but does anyone know when the R520 is coming out? The G70 is supposed to come out end of June, but that's just rumours...

It's not a beauty to say the least! But if they doesn't change the cosmetic design of the engenering sample it would be the first ;) And agreed, it's extremely long! Seems like it has been made with dual core in mind or something like that!

haha, i like how the "ugly motha" heatsink they advertise on that were actaully considered big back then, while today that's a pretty standard gpu cooler size
