This bios was discovered by someone on abxzone.com. Myself and a few others have installed it with no issues. It appears to fix's Speed Step, overvolting in bios and provides more DRAM multiplier options. Also, the splash screen is that of the AiLife box cover.

Don't know if this is a beta bios or final but it appears to work fine.

ps. I loaded the Bios update using the Windows Asus Update program

Excellent, simply great news. Now I can boot @ 300+ Mhz fsb no problem, was previously stuck @ 290 Mhz boot speed max with 0124...

gandalf027 > I guess I don't need to send you the 0124 file now right ;)

I know this thread is kind of old, but there's a thread for a request for a BIOS on this board, and I'm having a problem with it.

I flashed to this BIOS, and everything went nice. THen I reboot, and the computer starts overheating. DIdn't touch anything in the computer. I can't really do anything since the computer shuts down every few seconds. I did manage to underclock it to the lowest speed, and it seems to work now, but at 1.4 GHz. Now what is wrong? How can I fix this? Does anyone have an Old BIOS that works?

Aren't there any oficial bios yet ?

I've tried the 0408 and when I restart the machine @ 250 fsb or higher it shut's down the PC and pass +/- 3 seconds it power's on again ! Weird !

With the original bios all is OK !

I'm back to the original one now, but I really wanted the 1066 mem option/multiplier !

PS: my original bios is 0124 but on the suport CD the bios that comes there is a 0204 !! Anyone knows the diferences between those two ?

Yea, the BIOS still have a little work that needs to be done. NONE of my memory dividers work at all. I'm on the 0408 right now, but going to play around with others today. I seem to like the one on the CD more, IDK where it is, but if its on the CD I'll find it.

I have that same restart issue. NOt a huge problem, but I can't get the board to boot at 300 no matter what. I really liked that 0204 BIOS.

Don't you guys have any problem with 04xx bios family and RAID 0 ??

That combination gives me BSOD during windows install !!! With the 0124 (original) all is ok !

I had identical problems as Jvidia.

with 2 Hitachi 80G,with RAID 0, in windows instalation, about 34 min to final a BSOD.

After several attempts, i think the problem is Bios,i had a 0408, anda had to flash to 0124 (original) and know things works fine ;)

Why aren“t official Bios in Asus site???

so im i ,but kan it hold ones oc ? is silicon better ? i ran raid0 on the dfi and my 640 cpu could run around 4,7-8 stabil . here its running 4.6 till now .i was just wondering if it could be the controller thats holding the cpu back?

so is there any other downside to the shutdown instead of restart problem, other than the 3 second wait until it comes back on?

I mean it still saves the bios settings right?

I ask because my board is coming tomorrow but the CAP i need to fix it won't be here for a few days and I can live with it just fine if thats all it does until i remove my board for phase change install
