This is the lowest temp yet...

HX temp with 2nd stage running. First stage uses pure R290.

Currently I've a big problem with dryice forming  I need to find the right charge.

Nice! That's a huge condenser you have though.

Very nice, bummer about the dry ice forming. Are you running a second gas in the second stage to try to prevent it from turning solid? Maybe 134A or ?

Its a mix of CO2 and R290 I am using right now.
I need to find the right charge. But maybe I'll try with R134a too.

Looks good, the fan is a bit dangerous :D
Are the temperatures HX-out or HX-in?

hx inlet. next time i'll take the outlet temperature
oh, the fan is more then dangerous. :p: but i'll use another fan in the final cascade. this is just for testing. :D
very nice jan, and some nice temps also
you can lisen to the eva. add lots of r290.
then slowly replace r290 for more co2.

birkut did a co2 cascade a while ago.. give him a pm, he had a trick on how to stop gas forming in evap...

Surely you mean dry ice/solid CO2 man :slap: ;)

sofar i noticed R22 works the best with CO2. R134A does not help at all.

Hm, maybe I should order a bit R22. Does it work much better then R290?
Best would be R1150 insted of CO2 but I don't have the money right now. :(

with co2 nothing works much better, its only a little better
with co2 nothing works much better, its only a little better
then I'll save the money for r1150
you and kayl used only a small amount of co2 and more r290 in the second stage. is that correct?

exacly like me

that’s righ lots of r290/ not sure if there is more r290 or more c02.
Easiest way is to load it on cpu, and if it starts to suck vacuum (blocking)
Or get a complete block and low pressure increases and temps fall,
Need to add more r290. but at the same time ya need enough c02 to get cold temps.
It’s a big challenge.
But then once I sorted it when you remove the evap ya get nice noload temps.
I know im saving for 1150 too jan. :toast:

Hey Jan,very nice cascade, but i just have one question
What regulator do you use for your co2 bottle?i'm getting a bottle like yours(my bottle suports 0.6kg of co2)and i would like to know what regulator do you use.
Thank you.

I use a CO2/Argon regulator
