I'm having rather hard time to choose among these:

Leadtek WinFast PX6800 TDH (would use the original Leadtek fan) £258

Connect3D ATI Radeon X850 XT (+ Zalman VF700-ALCU VGA fan) £315

2x Leadtek WinFast PCX6600GT-TDH GeForce PCX6600 GT (Would use the stock fans) £247

Which choise is a more bang-for-the-buck choise? I was thinking of o/c them both much as possible. But I would be already quite satisfying running the GT card at Ultra clocks for example. For me £315 is a bit much to spend on a gfx card on my relatively low budget. Would it be a huge performance gain with that X850 XT card or? I was gonna run it on a DFI SLI mobo but I'm probably not gonna run dual GT cards, well at least not for quite a long time. But the other hand, 2x6600GT is quite attempting to that low price, I would only do very minor o/cs on those if possible.

Also if any1 know any benchmarks where both X850XT, 6800GT or 2x6600GT is present you could post the link if you want. thx

1x 6800gt is already > 2x6600gt. Go with the x850xt out of all of them

1x 6800gt is already > 2x6600gt. Go with the x850xt out of all of them

A misconception I'm afraid...Two 6600GTs can get 15k with quite some ease whereas the 6800GT cant. Heck two 6600GTs go after the X850XTs all the time on the orb in 03 and 05.

However, it's dependent on whether a game will properly implement SLI and many games as of yet do not correctly give even the 1.5x performance boost. So yes an X850XT is the way to go.

And if you ARE in the market for one, I'd get one with VIVO as they usually clock better, but not if the price diff between a vivo and a non-vivo is more than $50.

Get the x850xt if it isn't to pricy alt. you could look for a x800xt, if the price is low enough, and then clock it.. The 6800GT is only an option if it as well is priced 50$ or lower than the X850XT, or is able to clock higher than ultra speeds..

Seems like I'll go for that Leadtek Nvidia 6800GT anyways... of course I know X850XT beats 6800GT easily but I have to mind the price as well and it seems like I can't afford that X850 XT. What I more wanted to know is that extra £57 worth the performance gain. Also I have checked some benchmarks and to me it seems rather like an average 5 - 15 FPS slower speed with the 6800GT, which to me doesn't seem worth £57 on this budget.

BTW just to tell any americans how lucky they are with their newegg site as this same comp would cost ~$1600 there while it's gonna cost like $2150 here in Europe

If I lived there I could easily choose that X850 XT card + SD 4000+ instead of 3700+. :cussing:

AMD Athlon 64 San Diego 3700+
Zalman CNPS7700-ALCU
DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR
Leadtek WinFast PX6800 TDH 256MB DDR3
OCZ Gold VX PC4000 2x512MB
OCZ PowerStream ATX2.0 520W
Thermaltake Armor FullTower Aluminium NoPSU (Black)
NEC ND-3520A/GNB 16X DL DVD/RW (Black) (OEM)
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS (OEM)
2x 120mm Akasa AK-174CB-4BLB 4-blue LED
56CFM 29.74dB 1700RPM

will cost about $2150 when I order most of the parts from overclockers.co.uk and the cpu fan and comp case from a finnish site. Damn such a rip off compared to $1600 on newegg :S
