Yeah, what can i say? Monarch and the overclocking GODS have dropped a golden one in my lap :D Too bad it's going for a plane ride next week ;)
It's a:
LBBLE 0515 FPBW
And has a fairly high batch number...
Coupled with my MUSHKIN Redline, I'm getting BIG numbers... REALLY BIG. Here's the config:
Venice 3500+
DFI nF4 ultra-D
MUSHKIN REDLINE XP4000 (2 x 512mB)
Coolermaster Hyper6 w/ 3000rpm quiet fan/ AS5
BBATI X800XL
Rosewill RP550 PSU (no that's NOT a typo)
Ambient air 24C
Vcore 1.64v
Vdimm 3.61v
Idle 36C
Load 54C
BIOS 0510-2
Yellow slots
With the venice, I need to tune the DDr a bit differently, they're running out of steam at 270... will try 3.7v :eek2:

Charlie, why don't you play on lotteries? Based on your cpu luck, I guess, you'd do pretty good there :D
An uber Venice there

great chip, i have a week 12 that does 2.6 easy, seen someone bust around 2.85
So thise venices seem to have better luck then the winnies did.
id bet you could run the vcore a lil lower if you tryed.. 54c load seems a bit hot, but your not gonna keep the chip, so hopefully the second hander will get a nice 3ghz range clock. :toast:

Now all the 0517 Taiwanese friends got are like 1.32v 2700(9x300)
some one them like Peter Lu, he got a 1.32v 2800 mhz prime satable.
Just FYI;)
I am talking about Venice 3000+..0517 is the golden week code for it :)

Nice Charlie,
I've gotta pick me up a pair of those Mushies. Then again, I really can't complain about my 4800ff's :p: Here's my 3200+ 0515 APAW on stock cooler :

And I just did this last night with a Hyper6:
http://img281.echo.cx/img281/4245/10x290spi32m0fb.jpg
I think she's got a lot left in her and if it wasn't for my GF-who decided to beat up the condenser on my Mach2- I'd have this chip frozen already. Nevertheless, I'm may just try it anyways..... :p:
Nice CPUs guys :D
Bummer on your Mach2 s7e9h3n... now you'll have to get a Chilly1 cascade

LOL, yeah you never know. :P By the way good stuff with that chip, I wish my San Diego would do that on air! :D

I'll try strapping a Vantec Tornado on it and shoot for a 3gHz 1M run... that'd be the "ultimate goal" for an air-cooled Venice. My SD only was superPi clean at 2920, and my BEST FX55 went 3006mHz 3D stable out on the patio at 15C. This is probably the BEST clocking A64 i've EVER had!

Passing 1M Super Pi is hardly stable, 32M is more like it.... :)
Still though, nice results there! :slobber:

I am the friend Gautum is referring to. Just to clear some things up -- those results were obtained w/ my tower sitting next to my padio door on a cool night. (ambient air temp was approximately 10 degrees celcius). I used a XP-120 w/ Panaflo M1A fan.

CPU watercooled.
For some strange reason 250x11 is not primestable yet. I've been playing with Drive strength/Data strength/TREF settings for hours , no luck yet. My windows is pretty fu*ked up from all this wild memory tweaking :p:
I'm using bios 4-14/3 which doesn't seem good with the Venice.
I'm gonna try bios 5-10/2 and reinstall winxp - i have a feeling this will bring

howdy. i was reading your first post and noticed that i have the same chip as you, but got mine @ newegg. i have basically same rig as you but cant get mine above 2900 on air, and its only 3d stable. i have to set vcore to 1.66 or higher to get this speed. temps are fine. xp/90 with 92mm(not tornado, but almost). any tips you can throw my way will be appreciated. i really wanted to break 3g before going to dual core. btw which of the numbers is the batch number and how do i know if its low or high?

ps ive had winchesters at this speed and find they have somewhat higher bandwidth at the same settings. also getting slightly lower 3d scores with the venice. is this happenning to you?
very truly yours,

thx... yeah I've got a lot of work to do. I just got my autocascade from chilly1, I have a Dothan setup ready minus the CPU (I need to get one this week) and then I see the FX55/SD ready too....

Those are some amazing screenies guys, nice to see the newer gen chips clocking so much higher.

Charlie, how high is the batch number on that chip? Above 600? Because I just got the exact same stepping with an upper 500's batch number (retail 3200+ from newegg) and I'm getting excited while I wait for My RMA's (I have a gigabyte and a DFI BOTH being RMA'ed right now) to return.

Sweet.
My 3000+ 0516 LBBLE was over 1200 and seems fairly good for the week/stepping, though it's low/average for venice overall. It seems batch numbers dont mean as much for these as they did for AXp's (I noticed with Xp's low batches would consistantly clock upwards of 200mhz+ above identical steppings with higher numbers.)

Whats some good ram for overclocking this? G.Skill PC4400 LE?

Try something other than tccd. I've had three chips now that don't like TCCD. A Venice, A Winny, and a Winny Mobile.

great to know I just got a LBBLE 0515 FPBW from Monarch as well so they havn't run out of those yet
hope it clocks as well under my Maze4
since these are cooler running I wonder If I should hookup a TEC again. The Clawhammer was too hot for it though : /
