very massive - can you use these on a non-NVidia based chipset system? Or does the motherboard have to have a SLI option?
motherboard has to be sli compatible

That thing is a beast.
BUT.....
Can you say micro-oven?????
Your pc case temp will be very high with that thing.
I have a friend that had 2 6800gt and they got to 95ยบ under load with the stock cooler.
You have to cool it properly :D
Look ma', my pc is hovering :woot:

Benchmark results point to about 20,400 points in 3DMark 03 and about 9500 points in 3DMark 05.
And we'll be laughing our butts off at these when a year from now the nex gen cards will do that on air ;) ...or eventually at stock when a 20k in 03 becomes the new 01se 20k.

yeah thats true, also imo its late. I would rather wait to pay $500-$600 on a R520/G70 than buy this for $700 and get outpeformed in a few months.

Yes, but it probably woudn't fit in my back pack lol. Though they could make a star wars spoof with it :p: Starting the movie with a shot of the lenghty underside of the card as an imperial mothership :D

Thats a really big heatsink. Couldnt move your PC much, cause it might fall out or something.

haha, i know. that card possibly would snap right out of socket. the 6800 ultra's heatsink is big enough, as it bends the card down far enough.
