Hi,

Haven't been doing much oc'ing these days, but I'm starting to get back into it. I'm typing this currently on an MSI K8N Neo2 mobo and a Vapo LS. Couple of questions, hope someone in the know can help me out.

I know I'm getting good cpu contact and the evaporator temps seem normal, but for some reason the temps in the bios and MBM stay between +38 to +42 deg C? Is my mobo known for inaccurate temp readings below 0? The CPU is an FX-55 at stock, if that makes a difference. Just for reference, I use to have an Abit IC7 and P4 and the on die temps seemed believable.

For some reason, the system starts with the LCD lit, but once booted up the LCD goes dead, anyone know what's up with this?

Thanks a lot... I hope to do some serious overclocking once the kinks get worked out.

Don't ever trust a mobo for cpu temp on phase change. Trust the OC on your cpu. If your cpu oc's nicely, then you know you have good contact. Oh, and of course, your evap temp will let you know about contact as well. I have the same board running with a mach2 and it shows 40c cpu temp all the time. Even after I flashed bios to 1.36b, I still had the same temp reading.

Good luck on oc'ing that chip!!

Thanks Bmorin.

I thought something wasn't right, glad it's the mobo's temps.

I've gotten 2.8GHz @ 1.6v in bios 26hr Prime95 stable on the stock heatsink. What seems to be the norm oc on phase change?

I thought it strange 2.8GHz @ 1.5V wasn't Super Pi stable, so I took off the evap head and touched the cpu, it was quite cold.

Putting it back together know.

If it's a pretty decent FX-55 you should be able to hit atleast 3ghz with it on phase

Crank up the voltage under that LS and you will see some amazing results. My guess is around 3.1-3.2GHZ stable
