Ive been backwards and forwards over my new system build for almost 2 months now, and i think ive finaly got the majority of the components selected that i feel happy with so here it goes ..
Asus P5ND2-SLI Deluxe
Intel P4 640
Corsair TWIN2X 5400UL DDR2 1GB Kit
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7
Asus GeForce 6800GT
NEC ND-3540 DVD Writer
The only sticking points at this time are the PSU and Case, as for the PSU im still looking at the PCP&C but am trying to find out what the situation is with customs charges before I order one but would appreciate some alternative suitable SLI PSUs if i get bad news from customs.
As for the case, well im totaly lost on that one and have spent way to much time looking at the options so for now i may just run the thing without a case hardcore OC style :)

Well a little update, got the CPU/Mobo/Memory today.
Asus does realy nice packaging it has to be said boath in terms of looks and keeping things safe inside..the board it self looks good to, only complaint in terms of physical stuff is there are chips on the otherwise nice looking(i like red :) ) northbridge heatsink which is a little annoying but not that much of a big deal(wonder if anyone else has had this happen with this board or other Asus's or is it just me ?) as I plan on going water cooling for CPU/Chipset in a few months time anyway.
As for the CPU and memory.. well they are what ive mentioned before, will try and get the stepping etc from the CPU at some point but i cant read it at the moment.. will probibly need a magnifying glass or something as its damn hard to read.
Now I gotta wait for the rest of the stuff before i can play, ah well.

Sorry but Creative makes the best Game Sound Cards around. Being a hardware biggot means you just miss out on Good tech. Non of the other card can do Game soulds that sound as good as the Audigy 2 and 2 ZS=P
I would have advised you to wait for the June 30th price cuts. The cuts will affect Processors, DDR2 Memory and Video cards from ATI and nVidia.
Other than that, great system and good luck with it.

Personally, I hate the Audigy series. Impossible to get working under Linux, but Creative Live! 5.1 card worked right out of the box. No one except from freaks can actually hear the difference in sound quality.
EDIT: Plus, you can pick them up almost free on eBay.

Im finding the Audigy 2 I have in my old system to be rather annoying in terms of sound quality over all more specifically there is just far to much noise on the headphone out for my likeing and i use headphones a lot. Also the way that they do driver updates drives me nuts.
I plan to do multitrack recording/sequencing in future as well and the Creative cards just are not suitable for use for that at all.. and thats not being a hardware biggot, its a fact.

Hows the BIOS on that P5ND2, i heard that not many people like phoenix bios, and i have little experience with it as everything uses AMI now.

Havent gotten everything to build the system so cant see for myself but from the manual and reviews ive read it looks real good.
Particulaly interesting is the ability/option to run mem and fsb at completely independent(asynchronous) speeds.. no divider to get in the way, but this i believe is a chipset feature rather then a bios one.

so get going and clock that cpu . :) im running stabil at 4.7 on a 875-t ,but would be nice with some info about the mb . lets see if this sli board can do as good as 955 chipset .the ASUS P5WD2 Premium is doing really good in terms of overclocking .

Little update again, unfortunately ive had to RMA a few items (mobo/case/graphics card) should have replacements sorted in a few days, this of corse means play time is on hold for a while longer :(
