Hey,

I'm having a weird problem with P5WD2.

If i set the vcore for Auto i get the normal 1.38+- (I have a 640).
If i manualy choose one, the board sets for 1.48v~1.52v and it doesn't move from there. May it be a reading problem from the bios (pcprobe gives me the same reading)?

Thanks for any sugestion.

It´s a bios issue.
It will be fixed in upcoming versions.

Heh, same thing happening here. It's a pain in the a**, but if you set it to 1.700V you can get it up to around 1.58-1.59V, however it drops to like 1.53-1.55V under load....

I've been reading a bit and it seems there are some beta bios that solve the problem. Lets hope they dont take too much time to release them :)

Yes lets hope so. Besides the few problems/bugs in the bios I'm really happy with the board. It seems very stable and performs very well. I've managed to run 3dmark @ 4900 Mhz using setfsb even with the Vcore and the other "bugs"

I'm satisfied with it too :) 4500 1.5v watercooled ... prety stable. Btw, can you see the memory speed in windows with any program? Cpuz or another ..

Not with cpu-z 12.6 which i s the latest I can get unfirtunately. Also SiSandra and everest doesn't read the speed I'm afraid, so I haven't been able to read the speed of the memory in windows yet. Also memtest86 doesn't read the speed either, at least not the ver 3.2 I've been using...

Is it the version with the tv card and wifi card?
how does it compare with your old AA8XE?

No one has the Wifi-TC card version. Right now, the only folks to have gotten the Wifi-TV Edition have been reviewers. Asus US has no idea if they will be getting this version. Maybe, you'll be lucky in Portugal.

In regards to the thread, my bios/pc-probe reads vcore appropriately. It goes nutty though when I'm running aibooster, which I'm under the assumption that it's due to the aibooster itself.

My issue and I hope it's a bios one, my CPU temps are reading 10c degrees higher than when it was used w/ my P5AD2-e Premium motherboard. I have reseated the cpu and XP-120 several times and it still reads 54c degrees under load. Anybody with this issue?

Hmm, odd. Tried Asus PC Probe and it shows almost the Vcore I've set in bios, although bios does not and AI booster doesn't either. Also it clearly doesn't recognize negative temperatures.... :p:

Here, pcprobe gives me the correct vcore reading but with the problem i've mentioned. I've contacted Asus, but they didn't give me a satisfactory answer about it. They said that there are no beta bios for this board .. yeah right. Lets wait that it pops up at their website, or someone that has been using them can send it to us.

Current shipping bios for P5WD2 boards is version 0124.
But have anyone noticed that Rev 124.01 support cd´s contain newer bios that the one the board is shipped with? :D

You can find the 0201 bios version from the root of support cd, named as P5WD2P.rom..

Can´t remember if this bios already fixed the vcore issue.

"There are no beta bioses available" is utter bull*hit even it comes straight from Asus mouth. There are atleast four different bioses for this board, including the two shipping versions. Guess these are for reviewers only...

I just got a PM from gandalf027 this morning, and it seems the beta bios on the cd is a step back rather than an improvement....

Yup, it's harder to keep tight timings with the bios that came in the cd, and it doesn't solve the vcore problem. Mine is 0204, check your cds .. if you don't have it and you wana try it just pm me.

The Stilt, sure there is beta bios, but for some reason they don't want them to be public yet.
