Hey,

well I've got my 6800nu > 16 pipes 6 v's and now for the overclocking part of it, if i try auto-detect, on my last card it was detecting far to low, but now it seems to be detecting far too high... for example, it says 390/780 and i can run 780 ok but my core just doesnt wanna budge above 350 (stock)...

What can i do to overclock my core ?

the problem i get is that when i go into games etc.. it just stalls for a few seconds and sound repeats like it normally does when your system locks, but then it goes again.... im confused!

help! :(

If you want better overclocks lock the 4 pipes back. The card has a lower voltage for the core because it only has to power 12 pipes at lower speeds. I get better scores with my core and mem overclocked more than I do with unlocked pipelines. By the way I'm running an eVGA at 415/840 in the 12/6 configuration.

3d05 will fully atek advantge of these pipes though, you might be wary if you do most of your benching there.

Try extracting the bios from your 6800nu, using a floppy and nvflash. Then you can mod it to change the voltage that gets to the core. I think you could run 1.5v through the core with good cooling.

NiBitor 2.0a is the best program to mod a bios with. If the extra pipes and vertex shaders are fully functional i'd keep them open as this will give a better performance increase than a slight core overclock IMO. With the extra voltage to the core, the extra pipes will be supplied with enough power.

Btw, you could also use rivatuner scripts (HwUnitsMaskEliminator) to permanantly unlock the pipes in the bios, so you don't need a 3rd party piece of software to do it for you.
