I manged to pick up a really cheap brand new 515 2.93, I thought it would be cool to mess with, to see how far it clocks.
Me being a noob just assumed that as it was 775 it would work in all boards (like 667 ram working in a slot thats only 533), but I stuck her in and it did nothing.
Is there anyway to get this 533 chip to work on a 925X board, if i remember i thought crazy had his 505 on a 925X.
Thanks in advance

Depends on the mobo you used.
On ASUS P5AD2 925x boards, these 533 cpu's run fine...

Maybe it's one of those stupid clear c-mos/remove battery - issues...
Did you try that before putting in the new cpu?

--> my P5AD2-E refuses to boot if I don't do that when I switch between the 560 and the 660...

Yeah I tried that, still no luck, its really wierd as it starts up for 5 seconds, leds on the corsair start to flash, then 5 seconds later, it turns off.

sounds like overheating or a short. try reseating your cpu, i've had it work for every intel comp i've dealt with that shut off shortly after turn on

Tried reseating and still no good, I looked on the DFI website and it says only support for 800fsb, so I dont know why newegg is claiming 533fsb and 800fsb.
I tried flashing my bios back a few as in my present bios i can only select 200-380 clock speed and to get the chip working it needs 133. No luck flashing back.
I tried it in an old 915 motherboard and it works fine, but the 915 board is crap so I dont use it anymore, So i decided to put it on Ebay.
