Im not quite sure but I think its a 3.0c maybe? I also want to knwo if its worth it to buy a better mobo instead of having a dell run it. Anything else I need to know about it? Like what the average norrthwoods overclock too.

Dont mine the color the original file was to large.

I have the same CPU, but it's tucked away and am using my AMD now. I had the same Northwood 3.0C and 3.72 was my max 3.6Ghz was no problem with a little extra voltage and 3.525Ghz was my normal everyday running speed.

Heh, I put a 437watt dominator tec on one of those once. Broke 4.4 at -2C idle. Loved that chip. Is it a 12 or 30 capper.

I'm sure he used a dedicated single-line PSU to run it.

Is that a newer 30 capper? I have a 3.0c that was made durring the first few weeks of their release (12 capper, I forget the stepping). Anyway I could get 3.5 on water, 3.75 on my -20C chiller, and max screenshot I could pull was 3.84ish So 4ghz wont be too easy unless its a newer northy.

Good luck with it :)

I had it turned off. Its turned on now, I will check cpu z when i get a chance to hook a monitor up to it. All it does is fold right now.

Added: so this one is a good board?

Yes, that is a good board. Remember though that Newegg refurbs are just that item, not even items that you need to have it work at times (IE a 9700paiw I got was card only)

i had a 2.8C that did 3.5 on air... i could see a good 3.6 or so on air outta that chip.
