ES = eXtremeSystems. Intel gave the CPUs to him as a gift so that he can boost our team's output. :p:

The unit arrived today. I am waiting on a couple of power pods for the 2 extra processors and a couple of hot-swap units for the harddrives I bought. I also picked up a floppy unit for this system. Once I feel comfortable that it is performing correctly I will upgrade to 8GB of RAM with another 8 to come at a later date.

They look mighty nice BTW !

Pictures...sorry, some are a little blurry...I can't seem to hold the camera steady...I suck I guess. Anyway, I will take closer pictures with more detail on request. Not up and running quite yet. The Power Pods for the Itanium 2 CPU's showed up and the two Ultra320 15K drives...and the floppy drive...sadly the Power Pods did not come with connector cables...waiting on those now for a boot-up.
Disclaimer: This system has 5 mainboards that are joined together using MANY edge-connectors. The different pictures you are seeing are these mainboards. One for the 4 Itanium CPU's (2 on top, 2 on bottom of the board), one for the four independent memory channels, one for the PCI slots, one for the I/O controller and server management system card, and one that connects them all together - the "hub."

Alot of the 4p 3u server rigs use daughter cards in order to get all of the hardware into the space. You can basically break your motherboard into parts and connect the parts together with large connectors
