My cable modem died yesterday morning, meaning I now have 10ghz of amd rigs sitting idle. My ISP sucks royally, last time it took more than a week to fix. :(
This evening I will try to set up something with dialup, maybe if I can get like 6 instances of F@H running on each box I can only dialup once a day to send/receive WU's... WAHHHHH.....:(
Tedinde: Here's your chance to get a head start :p

What's with ISP's lately. My Isp has been off and on now for a week. They can't even send anyone out to check the lines until next Friday  Then to top it all off my APC power strip blew up on me. I went to plug something into it and sparks went flying. My Pc's shut down and I lost my MBR off my main rig. What next?

It's the same state in UK too... Broadband users are suffering dialup speeds or less, and we've always had ridiculous times to wait for engineers... usually a week, sometimes two, I've even had to wait a month in the past and I get a priority service cos I have 1Mb at home... and TV and phone, all thru Telewest...
It hasn't been off for a while but speed is soooo slow it's unbelievable... no matter whether a UK site or a US site (but don't use mine as a comparison for UK as it's hosted in US... fairly close to where XS' servers are from what I worked out... we use PowWeb)
Shortcircuit... wouldn't worry about Tedinde... statsman shows you coming tearing thru and he isn't pumpin enough out to compete...
Tedinde... MORE RIGS/POWER REQUIRED D00d!

Yeah you could set up internet connection sharing on xp. Slow but better than nothing. I know something had to be wrong. Since i told you not to "slip" once. Just kidding
Too bad there's not a Queue program like seti has. I used to run a few boxes with 100 WU's queue'd and just transmit when finished. Plus just incase the servers went down for days. You had backup.
Why cant Folding@home do somthing like that. A lot more people would do this since it would make it easier.
I share a Comcast pro connection with my neighbor. Costs $84 instead of the usual $41. But I get around 5800k down and 1200k up. If i went for basic i would get 1200k down and 128k up. So it's better for both of us to share a connection. Houses are close. Plus When in goes down they guarantee fast service on the pro connection.
Id go crazy now if i had to use a phoneline. But sorry to hear that Shortcircuit, I dont want to pull ahead of you this way!!!!!
