I picked up a chilly1 modded R507 mach 1 gpu cooler off of k|ingp|n a while back, I noticed yesterday when I hooked up an x800 xl that it was still getting down to about -47C idle, but when I started benching the temps according to ati tool rose to -5C under load. This is with no volt mods on the video card. So am I running low on gas which is why it can't hold the load or is it something else... it also takes a lot longer it seems to get down to a real cold idle temp. sorry I'm STILL a phase change newb.... :slap:
Thanks for all your help as usual.... :)

Are you measuring with a digital probe or going off the mach1 display or what?

Sadly I have no digital probe and the mach 1 display has been disabled... I'm just monitoring using ati tool which may not be very accurate in actual temps but a 40+ degree difference seems right... the pcb of card after benching feels warm to the touch... whereas it used to feel quite cool :(

the only reason it would need regassing is because of a leak. if you see a continuous drop in performance then it is most likely a leak. also, check your condenser for dust build up.

Maybe you get -5c after load because you got a bad contact between gpu and evap? Like thermal paste touch both pieces but too far to get proper result?
