hi,
really gettin into the D20Ling :D
not only do i see it as a means to a terrible end for such mean viruses but i also see it as a big competition....SO im in town for a cheap cruncher...

i already have a PSU+512mb Ram just need mobo, cpu and gfx card :P

CPU: 2800 s754 sempron - £55
MOBO: Asus K8V-X - £50
GFX: XFX MX4000 64mb - £20
Total: £125

Got a few questions tho:
> do semprons overclock well?
> if so will that motherboard hold the OC back?
> i know it depends on the speed but how many candidates will that Sempron pull a day?
> is there a better system for roughly the same price?et

cheers

The new Revision E semprons OC Very well because they have the are built around the "venice"core.
(* they are not avaliable yet but, they will be soon)

you want to look for box code : SDA3000BOBOX
or mfg. code of : SDA3000AIO2BO
* this is for the 3000+ * noted by the 3000 in the code

i would not recommend that board becuse of the chipset it has.
But i know the BEST OCing 754 board is the DFI LanParty ut Nforce3 250 Gb

If you are trying to get a CHEAP crucher i would recommend you get a Mobile Athlon XP (2400 - 2600) and an ABIT AN7 mobo.

the mobo has the option of "halt on No errors" so a GFX card is not needed.

Yea, that isnt a bad idea. I may have to look into the mobile and AN7 route.

If you want to save some money, I've heard Chaintech made a decent NF3 S754 board, not a DFI board by any means, but not bad :)
