Possible Idea?

I've seen people do like methane and such, but is it possible to somehow use oxygen itself? I've also seen co2..

methane yes as a cascade gas, oxygen no, co2 yes

sorry to hijack, but is co2 just added to other gases as a cheap solution for lower tems or can you use it as the main gas in a single stage unit or a 2nd stage cascade gas... ?? also is adding co2 to propane in a single stage a good idea?

Can someone eplain why O2 itself wouldnt work? Too hard to compress?

this is probably why, liquid oxygen only takes up a 10th of the space compressed o2 gas does, so when it evaporates it will REALLY expand and you'll lose your vacuume creating all sorts of problems. I may be wrong but this seems like a good enough reason

What if you managed the tubing size for after expansions and compressions?

don't know but compressors probably can't suck the expanding gas out quick enough to stop pressure from building

Well what if you paralled up 2 compressors? I wonder.... The temp on the evaporation could be insane...

Oxygen + oil is a BOM. Do not even think of using it.

Oxygen mixed with oil will EXPLODE!! Never even use WD 40 or any oils on oxygen gauges, it will explode!!! :nono:

Yesterday I seen a post asking about actylene, today oxygen,many people have been killed by acidents just in the work place by these 2 gases. gases store a lot of potential engery,this can be DEADLY if they are mis-handled. Under no circumstance should you mix gases unless you are 100% sure of the reaction. one drop of oil and oxygen under pressure will explode,and has killed people.Now think of a compressor full of oil. For your safety and everyone around you spend the money and take the time to read a good book from cover to cover. many safety issues are not discussed here that you should be aware of. safety matters!!!!!!

Well, thats why I asked. I thought it was a dumb idea, but I was just throwing out an idea. I've seen things like those insane cascades, and was just throwing out a possibility to get shot down.
