Is Nforce4 so good??

First of all, sorry for my poor english, but i hope you will be able to understand... :)

For a while, pls forget Overclokking....

I had a really good and stable Abit AV8 3rd eye + AMD64 3500+ winchester + 2x512 Corsair XMSpro (BH-5) + X800XT agp - OCZ 520w pfc Sb Audigy2 zs, ecc ecc
*Aquamark3 benchmark said the system did 70.300 points

Later, after the nforce 4 released i bought an Abit AN8 fatal1ty... since it didn't work and since i couldn't wait for the substitution, I got a DFI NF4 SLi -D and a new Powercolor X850Xt pci-express

I put on the DFI exactly the same hardware (except for the new X850xt), same programs, games, everything...
BUT now the:
*Aquamark result is "only" 68.700 points!!!!!!

Where do i mistakes????????? :(
Is it possible??? :confused:

Any suggestion is appreciate!

i do think the x850xt is not as fast as the x800zxt pe, could be wrong.

but the DFI needs tweaking if you want it to show you some love. also, check thermal throttling and CnQ settings.

First of all even with the same hardware, there will be slight diff. in BenchMark Scores.
What Bios are you using for your DFI mobo? Are you O/Cing as per what you did when you were on AV8? Are you using the Latest nf4 Driver ? (http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp) Currently there 3 Bios (http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/other/114) for different RAMs Specifically. What's the diff.? RAM timings in the Bios.
- N4D510-1
- N4D510-2 and
- N4D510-3.
1 & 3 are for TCCD RAMs and 2 is for UTT & BH5. Since your using BH5 you might want to try N4D510-2 Bios.

did u install thre latest nvidia nforce drivers?

I am still with 5.10 nforce driver.... will try 6.53 asa I can! and i will post again new Aquamark3 score...

The Bios was the last official one: 3.10

My X800Xt was not a pe same than my X850Xt that is not a pe

In any case i believed the nforce4 was faster than viakt800 as it happened when i tryed nforce2 with my barton 3200+ :)

From my experience STABILITY wise nforce3 250gb was much better :(

i dont think nf4 is so good, well have to wait for ati's bullhead to compare, for what i have read bullhead is better and it is only a 4pcb layers mobo nf4 has 6 pcb layers, i know a as a fact that for audio nf3 is better than nf4.

plus atis mobo will have arm or ati's sli :)

clock for clock i think the nforce 3 ultra chipset is faster than nforce 4, but you can achieve way higher overclocks on nforce 4, basically its a choice between your needs/expectations, i dont know why your score hass gone down tho, maybe it needs more tweaking :)

I put on the newer 5.53 driver for nforce.... but why, for example, i read in IDE driver properties still nforce 5.10??

Do i mistake in installing driver?? Have I to do something particular to do this operation? (after have "take away" ... de-install the old driver of course [do not know the right word]) :confused:

I seem to remember that the Via chipset is marginally faster than nforce3, so I assume then if nforce4 is no faster than nforce3 then "at stock" the AV8 would be faster ??? Maybe the DFi can be tweaked faster though ?

people like you have been waiting since November 2004 and are bound to wait much longer...vaporware (having a few mobos flying around doesn't mean nothing if nobody is able to buy them)
