Just got my new Venice.

Code is:

ADA3200DAA4BP
LBBLE 0515FPBW

..0515 FPBW? Has anybody else got one of these? All the other 3200s ive come accross have been week 16. FPBW is normaly 3500+.

Im guessings shes a 3500+ that didnt make the grade. Anybody know anything about them?

Hehe, belive me i have every intention of kicking the :banana::banana::banana: out of it. I wont rest untill ive got at least 2.8Ghz on air.

for the record, stepping = LBBLE
0515 = date
FPBW = batch code

:toast:

either way, good luck oc'ing it. last one of them i saw did 2.85ghz with 1.65v on air. :p:

Its from Tekheads in the UK.

And its strange becuase FPBW is almost always 3500+, extensive googling only shows one other mention of a FPBW 3200+, and that was just a passing comment with no OC info. Was hoping somebody else around here would have a 3200 with FPBW and could shed some light on how well they overclock..

*Edit- Just found the stepping info list.. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=62353

No mention of an FPBW 3200

I believe this one would be nice coz I and some of my friends have got 0515 steppings and all of us can pass 2.7GHz easily

thanks, its nice to be here :toast:

Normaly hang out over at DoomedPC.com, but there just are not enough people in the forums to get answers to questions about this kind of thing. Also, as site admin im kind of expected to answer Qs and not ask them :P

Will be home from work in a few hours, will plug this baby in and see what she can do.

For those intrested:

This stepping seems to be pretty good.

Ive basicly just walked to 2.8Ghz 10x 280 on air. Shes probably got plenty left in her, just gotta do the fine tuning

:woot: Hopefully it makes it all the way up to 3ghz. :D

If its a failed 3500+ youll have a hard time hitting 2.2GHz. If amd didnt speed bin this expect 2.4 to 2.6GHz but I am not making any predictions. Good luck and get back to us

I just got the exact same chip from Newegg. I ordered a retail package 3200 venice friday $204, received this in the mail today;
ada3200daa4bp
lbble 0515fpbw

I'll let you know how it goes.

Ive been playing with this chip all night, it runs very stable at 2750 (275*10) with 1.52 volts on Air, thermalright p-90 with a low noise panaflo, msi k8n neo2 platinum, bios 1.8... temps are hovering around 112F, up to 122F at full load. I think it might go a little bit faster, I'll find out soon enough.

FYI- If you have this motherboard, 'cool & quiet' does not work yet with Venice or San Diego, and your ram timings are forced to 2t, the bios will let you set them to 1t and enabled, but the settings have no effect. I assume MSI will fix this someday...

Anyway, a very nice chip so far, especially for $200 :)

Maybe at default voltage it does fail :) ..
Some chips scale the voltage a bit better than others..

Just for the record the FPBW 0515 means it was assembled on the Saturday of week 15 using the second batch of cores available that day. (F = Saturday, B = second batch used in day)

welcome to XS fab :toast:

and yeah, the batch code doesnt have anything to do with the speed grade :D
any results so far? :)

hi,

Maybe there was a need of +3200 cpu's and they used cpu's that were approved for +3500 speeds. I'm saying maybe ;) or is this a crap theory?

Crap theory ;) There's no way AMD has such a limited production run that they'd run out of the 3200+ a week after release :p:

I got one too :) Hope we both get some nice results! I have only been able to get into Windows once and I prime95'ed for 30 hours at 2.45ghz @ 1.425V of Vcore. I will update with more into once I get my ram stable.

EDIT: And I was thinkin' I was the only one in the world with one of these ;) This was the only stepping of its kind in the 1st batch that the store got for delivery.

This chip rocks, its running stable at 2745 with 1.47 volts, the HT bus is at 305*9, with the ram set to 166/200 (I was giving it more voltage then it needed last night). The little beast hasn't crashed on me yet, not in any of the burn in tests, I'm stunned its working this well. Temps range up to 128f now, I doubt it will go much faster without a little more noise from the fan....

I did notice that if you set the ram divider to anything other then 1 to 1 on the Neo2, 1t timing will come back on...

Good luck techwarrior, hopefully yours will be at least as good as ours. :)

I've got me one too! :D

(Again from the first of thew 3200's in the UK from Tekheads). Doing 2.75Ghz at the moment at 1.475V stable. :)

Kewl!
While reading this thread about you two with the same processor as I, a smile has come to my face. Reading about both of you being stable @ 2.7ghz with roughly 1.45V made the smile broaden. I am now running Prime95 with my chip at 2.7ghz with 1.4V. So far 41-42C on load. I'm gonna leave it running overnight and hope I wake up to an error-free Prime95! That smile of mine will turn into a big-@$$ beam! Just FYI, I was able to boot into windows with this chip at 2.9ghz and 1.66V and I ran Super Pi 32M test and it passed in 25mins. Don't think this holds much weight because I really don't feel Super Pi is a good stability tester. Anyways, lets keep pushing these sweet thangs!

Best of luck with the overclockin'!!

GO VENICE GO!

My mate has a 3500 Venice - LBBLE 0516 DPMW.

Going to try it out this weekend.

Same as mine, 270x10@1.55v watercooled.

I got one of these Venices this week, is a fairly good stepping, but I'm hitting some wall ot temp or voltage. :P

This is my best stable for now, 2656 at 1,4v, temps about 45º full load, with XP90+ACRyan 2600rpm
The chip do 2600 with 1,35.

Problem is beyond there, at 2750 with 1,55v makes about 30minutes of load and BSOD appears with IRQL_LESS_NOR_EQUAL or something... maybe the controller isn't up to the work, excess of temp. (about 52º at this voltage), or excess of voltaje for this particular chip. It isn't memory related, mi plats R2 works flawlessly at FSB305, and error ocurr at 275x10.

Apart from that, my old winny was a very bad one, only do 2336mhz with 1,6volts, so I'm very happy for doing 2655mhz with only 1,4v, and still fine tunning to do, expect 2700mhz with about 1,45v possible

salu2.
