Hi all! :p: So i have a big trouble with my AA8XE
When i set FSB more than 266 MHz and entering Windows XP some tests and dxdiag show me my CPU frequency as 30 MHz! Sissoft Sandra 2005 shows terreble results in all tests! Everest and Real Storm 2004 have the same problem, but 3Dmark 2001-2005 works fine. I think that it's system timer problem, but how to fix it..... :brick:

If you're over 4.4GHz or very near then you need to update to SP2 in order to make the programs work correct.
It's something a 32 bit limitation.. maybe someone can explain in detail :d

strap the FSB to 1066 and should solve your probs, worked for me on my standard AA8XE :)

-2x512 Patriot XBL DDR 2 710
-PC X800XL Dual DVI VIVO

I have sort of the same problem but it happens at less then 4.3ghz. I can run 3dmark01 with my 650es at 4.1ghz and the bench runs fine and I get a pretty decent score (31550) but when I try to publish it it says the bench has a problem with my cpu speed (shows it at 2.8ghz or something idiotic like that). I know my cpu is stable enough at that speed to bench all day long, run 32mb super pi etc.. Even if I bring it down to 4.0ghz I get the same thing. IMO it's a problem with the AA8XE, the fsb fluctuates badly on mine and it's never been nearly as stable or overclocks as well as the P5AD2 I replaced with it. I'm dumping the Abit and grabbing an Asus P5WD2.... no more Abit boards for me ;)

Oh! And one more question:
My Patriot DDR2 XBL can work at 3-2-2-3 timings (266MHz) by SPD, but motherboard can set only 3-2-2-4, so how to set 3-2-2-3 by software, or maybe moded BIOS will help? ( do you know where i can take moded BIOSes fo Fatality?)
