well if you hae the bank roll, and it seems you do. Water cooling for sure.
2 Gigs of memmory is going to be harder to overclock.

7.3????

7 speakers and 3 subs??? WOW!??

Why would you need 3 subs?

I'd personally go with watercooling, 2 6800GT'S or Ultra's (256mb), and 1 GB of ram instead of 2GB.

get the new cooler master stacker or get one of the lian li v series cases or the new plus lines lian li has. I would get a seasonic 600w over the zeus because of some bad reviews of the zeus. I would also get a wired mouse such as a diamond razer back or mx518 instead of the mx1000 due to lag. Instead of the corsair I would go for 4x512 MB of redline as they seem to be able to hit 250mhz from what i can tell in the thread. Yea you should also wait for the fx57. If you are going to wait for the fx you might as well wait for the next gen cards from nvidia and ati as they seem to be comming out at around the same time as the fx57. Also look into the new saphire boards comming out.

mx1000 lag???? do you have one??? well i dont think so no lag at all and im a ut2004 player and 0 lag fast rf is about the same speed as usb 1.0 and is fast enough very very very precise battery last a lot

i would go 2 6800 ultra and with th emoney saved wc with peltier or vapochill or what ever better cooling.

1gig of ram the mem controller is quite stressed with 2gig so wont OC too well

Here's mine, I'm hoping to get these parts and build by next week:

DFI Lanparty UT nF4 Ultra-D
A64 3000+ venice (ADA3000BP)
2x512 OCZ PC3200 DDR EL Platinum Rev 2 (TCCD)
X800XL - Sapphire, ATI, or MSI... whichever I find for the cheapest.
Seagate Barracuda 200GB 7200.7 (non-NCQ)
Antec NeoPower 480W
Asus Vento3600 case

Anyone have any comments/suggestions? Besides the case?

Looks pretty good, but 2gig will be harder to overclock. I would look into some OCZ VX PC4000, 2x 512mb. And thats gonna be once nice SLI system once you get that second card.
Also, you might want to look into watercooling for that system. :)

I had a MX1000 for a day then I returned it because of major lag. It's just does not respond nearly as well as a corded mouse. I'm back to my trusty MX500. I would buy the MX518 but I can't find it anywhere locally. I didn't so much notice the lag doing normal everyday things like surfing the web, but I noticed it very much while playing some Q3. If they made a corded MX1000 I'd give that a shot.

I've had my mx1000 for months now and I have never noticed lag at all. I play everything q3, ut2k4, cs and I have never had problems with it. The only problem that mouse has is that if you lift it and put it back down it completely screwes up so if you are a lifter you would not want to buy that mouse. You do get some lag if the reciever is far away from the mouse. The lag is proportional to the distance between the reciever and the mouse, my reciever is less than 2 feet away so I get no lag. If you have any other interfearance in the room you will get some lag as well.

with the SLI performance seen thus far might as well wait till the price on the same card drops when theyve got the drivers all optimized for SLI might save $20... and I would wait for the 90nm Fx57... cant be too much longer until they come out can it?

Wait for the fx-57 if you're doing nothing but gaming, along with SLI G70's. Maybe wait till Q3-4, ull have more money by then too

If you're doing SOME gaming, but mostly rendering, photoshop, workforce, multitasking, server hosting and videos, revise that whole list and get dual opteron dual core 875's on the ASUS dual socket 940 mobo in my sig, the only dual opteron mobo with a PCI-X16 slot for a dual vpu wildcat 640 meg workforce card that is like $2,500, itll render SO fast with ur opterons, along with 6 gigs of ram, zippy 700w, lian li e-ATX, watercool/xp90c or you could go quad opteron 875's with a CM stacker and the top PSU mount dissassembled.

hmmm ive been hearing some bad things about the DDFI nF4 should i consider another MoBo?

Hombre

My suggestions are:
FX57 / Dual-Core 4400+
DFI NF4 / Sapphire's upcoming mobo
1/2GB of Mushkin Redline / G-Skill FF
Dual R520
PCPCxxxSLI / OCZ 600W (AFAIK there's a 700W version that should be coming soon)
CM Stacker, the original ofcourse
Dell 2405/2005FPW

If I were you, that's what I would get.

Most succesful OCers use single rail 12's..like Zippy or PCP&C.

4x512 is better than 2x1gig... will hit 2-2-2 @200 with TCCD.

2 GT's would be better then 1 512 meg ultra.

Monitor..ideally you want 3, one 22" diamondtron for games/movies front and center and two Dell 2005FPW's for officework on either side.

Rest is awesome!!!

i would wait until dual core is available FX line up was ok the last year dual core is the future every game from now will be multithreaded so why have a single core cpu? you can buy de 4800 almost the same in every game maybe 1 or 2 fps less some time mores but when the time comes and games are multithreaded starting with the impressive unreal engine 3 you will see a hughe difference more than you can think.

gpu well g70 or r520 if you go dfi g70 with sli if you go with saphire r520.

2 74gb raptors and 2 160gb hitachi deskstar ncq sataII

1gb of ram tccd or vx up to you i will recomend to you tccd gskill or ocz 5000 dfi edition (i like tccd because you will use less than 3vdimm so you will not use the 5v jumper that causes a lot of heat)

i recommend better cooling than air water with peltier or phase change.

pcp&p 800w sli edition.

sound xfi from creative forget about audigy look at the sneak peak from THG quite short but impressive.
