How do you turn a PSU on?

How do you get them to turn on without being connected to a computer? I wan't to run some fans and power my RC cars 12v charger with a spare one I have.

on the motherboard power connector, locate green wire, use piece of wire and connect green wire to the black next to it. works for both 24 and 20 pin
