We finally got some "AirDr" and sprayed the HSF until - temps (-3C or so) ... Enjoy:
Test Sytem:
AMD 2200+ Thorton Core
MSi KT6V Mobo
SimpleTech PC2700
PNY Verto 5900SE

BIOS: It reached -C° when it says "Not Present"

We got the 2200+ to 2.7ghz in BIOS. (I didn't have a HDD to boot into windows for benchies :( )

lol, i did that to a guy's nvidia card once to pop off the heatsink and fan. It was just glued on there and when the fan died, i just froze it off w/ the canned air and replaced it with a new combo HSF.

It was under -temps for about 5 min, after 10 min it was at 1c then slowly started to rise. Overall, a sucess. .. so much condinsation though .

Yea, thats dangerous stuff with no insulation. As cool as it is I wouldn't do it again. Maybe if you just HAVE to get that last little tidbit at the end of a benching session, but for anything other then that last little bit its not worth it. Water will form on the bottom of the heatsink and then simply drip onto your mobo. Poof.

Yeah with my 5900 it wasnt really a problem since it was mounted in a case, so if it dripped it would have just dripped onto the bottom of the case (no PCI cards thankfully)
