Ricky gonna mod my VapoLS - the mounting system is much better than the Prometeia, no seal string, just tie 2 screw thread and that's it ..less than 1 min. to mount.
However VapoLS standard compressor is horribly noisy and have much less cooling performace than my MachII well moded by Ricky. more than -10ºC diference (FX555 with 1.8v in DFI Bios screen -2 in VapoLS and -12ºc with the moded Mach2 - booth with fans at low speed).
So I maybe change the compressor, so I need you recomend and good one Danfoss compressor (easier to get in portugal) that makes almost no noise but have a good cooling performace with 404a..
Please remember that the standard compressor on Vapo LS have 19.3 centimetres of height (around 7.5 inches) with a litlle space left on the box..- see http://rc.danfoss.com/TechnicalInfo...02_Cf53b202.pdf
The Promie compressor (Danfoss NL11F) is out of stock here :(
Thank you for your suggestions :toast:

NL11 is the quietest... you could use SC compressors but they're loud

SCs are loud but powerfull:) if your going to change the compressor on it then why not put big enough compressor in it. SC12clx might be a nice replacement:P
hmmm i love the nl11f - had 2 on stock here and now modded with 404a...really impressive now and very quiet. why not trying to get a cheap mach I unit for ~150€ (there was one with a little leak or kinda this on ebay germany some time ago for ~140€ i guess...and if your one is modded anyway this could be a cheap solution for you to get a defect one from a newbie (in fact did the same but not knowing it had a leak in the pipe to the evap) )

Thank you :D
The NL11F is out stock here in Portugal - any other altenative for a compressor with same size and quiet ???
In terms on noise the NL11F seems on of the best ..

you can try some aspera compressors but you cant call them tough, but i remember there were quiet ones..

or mod your Prommy with Chilly1 evap+mounting:) cheaper than changing the compressor on the vapo.
does chaning compressor entail re fine tuning the unit? i.e. have you got to play wiht capilarry tube lengths and all that jazz to get it right? or can you jsut throw a compresor in there nad be down with it? what would this do to over all wattage heat dissapation?

NTY series of Danfoss might be something to look into. NEK of aspera, embraco is another candidate.

With stock captube lenght, new compressor (NL11F), desuperheater and so on I get these temperatures on modded Vapochill LS units:

Does about -45° with 120w load.
about how long does it take you to do the whole job? do you just recahrge wiht r507? oh yea and what pressures?

LoL didn't notice it was thread ressurection :)
hey cold ice,
i was thinking of getting either a SC12CLX or the MLX version. they a tad more expensive than the NL11F, but i think im the log run i;d be better off with one of these. What do you think? i was also thinking that while i did all this i might as well recharge with the 402a, any thoughts on that as well? thnx.

I would stick to the NL11F. The SC series is much louder, than the NL series. The SC12 may won't fit into the case because of the height (but cant say that for sure). The NL11F is strong enough for a solid single stage, I don't think you'll gather better temps with the SC12.
cool, so be it. im gonna buy one as soon as i find a retailer in the states. there isnt anyone on the forums i can buy from is there? Chilly1 or someone?

Don't think NL11F is for US. NF9FX is for US and it works great. Chilly or I can order one on your behalf to local refrigeration shops. Let me know if interested. Going to order few tomorrow if they have it in warehouse otherwise, I will have to see how long is the delay.
