Ok guys I just got a powercolor x800 XL with power connector. I installed ATI tools and tried to OC but this thing cant go anywhere...I got it up to 435 core 500 mem stable no artifacting but the temps skyrocket up to 60 on this thing...Anyone have any tips on OCing this thing? It comes with the 2.0n ram. Would putting some AS5 on mem and core help any with cooling? Well any tips would be helpful here. My rig is a DFI 4 ultra D, UTT mushkin 512X2 mem, OCZ 520 powerstream, venice cpu w/xp90.

AS5 will help. Another good thing to do is turn the fan up all the way. In the Overclocking section, go to the 'fan' tab and use it to crank the fan up. That will help control temps alot. And get a good cooler on that thing! The stock one is crap.

Well I got the ATI tool thing and have the air running at 100% now. I will shut down and put some AS5 on my core and mem and see if that helps. But i think i see that on the mem there is white pads. Can I apply as5 on there or no? I really dont want to have to buy an ATI silencer as I had a NV5 on my 6800 GT when I sold it and I didnt get much more than I would have gotten without the NV5...I dont plan on keeping this card forever..

Try the Zalman GPU cooler, plus it's universal so it'll fit MANY GPU's.
For mem, set EVERYTHING to stock speeds or near about... and try OC'ing JUST the memory, 500, 510, 520, 530....after setting speed, run a dragothic or something for a couple minutes, if it freezes or artifacts, that means too much mem oC. start from there!
