Not sure why you think you have a problem setting core volts to 1.4v ?

All 6800gt type bioses should be capable of being changed to 1.4v using NiBiTor v2.1. And being a GT, it is also possible to set core at 1.5v.

However, just to get you going, linked below is a zip file containing three 6800GT PCI-E bioses which have been set for a core of 1.4v.

Yes !

Or as I said, change your original bios to 1.4v using NiBiTor v2.1.

I'd be careful though, I've been hearing nothing but troubles raising the core....a lot of 6800GT's have wound up dying after 2 to 3 months of use at 1.4v even with adequate cooling....seems to me that they are somewhat picky about the voltages.

^^^ The trend I was seeing was all in AGP. I dunno I was wrestling with this myself and I was concerned about the stories. Having had an AGP one at one time though, I must say the PCI-e are alot more like their Ultra brothers. Like 1 mosfet I see a spot for is missing one.

Ahh this is true, I think it was mostly AGP which is what I have....so I honestly don't know so much about the PCI-E....

There's a lot more than just 1 mosfet missing between the ultra and GT though, someone had pics up, an animated gif that flashed back and forth between the two....a couple caps, resistors and mosfets here and there

so it is safe to increase 6800GT Vvore with bios or hard mod ?

@babyelf has you flash your card bios to Ultra ?
BTW my 6800GT can reach Ultra speed (400/1100) without mod :D
