:D Nerver played around with ATI cards before so I need some help from You guys with my X850XT.

Have some probs to find the best clock - the OVERDRIVE in ATI CC really sucks, either it hangs and the clocks are set back to stock or it hangs and doesn't work at all....

Yet I use the CATALYST 5.2, it's the last that is recognised by RIVATUNER. 5.3 & 5.4 can not be detected by RIVATUNER.

Have also probs with RIVATUNER - with the clocktest enabled I can get 600/600 or even better but 3D01 also hangs.

So I decided to get ATItool and will try it - seems to be a nice program.

Question here is what is best CATALYST version for WIN XP and what settings have to be done to get a good result on 3D01?

There are too much tweaks and settings - lost the overview and still look for an easy way to get the card running OCed.

So I'd be pleased about any help - I know there are a lot of You poeple with some nice experiences on ATI......... ;)

THX in advance !

Try RadClocker... Uninstall CCC as it's useless imho...

AtiTool is one of the best if not the best for ATI cards...

I think 4.12's or 5.2's are best for benching 01SE but I ain't 100% sure...

Radclocker is good in that it integrates into the Control Panel but ATItool scans for artifacts & can control your fan settings as well...

I have ATItool 0.24.9 beta if you want... It's a damn good program as it monitors your temps in the taskbar as well (you probably knew that anyways)...

Only way to find out is to try out all the Catalyst drivers from 4.11 to 5.4 & see for yourself...

The majority of ppl either swear by the 4.12 or 5.2 iirc...

Good Luck with your QUEST...

Now if only my DFI/X850XT/PC3200 GOLD/PowerStream 520w would play nice....

Cheers,

Use Eshbach's GFX mem timings from the stickie. I had to use the Atitool 1.24x beta to set them, on the previous versions the mem tab didnt work well with me X850. Gained me over 700 points in 3D01. Turn off VPU recover and ditch the CCC :)

:D THX mate - good info. Think I'll keep the 5.2 for now and will try both, ATItool and RadClocker.

Someone with infos about some recommended settings?
