I currenty have my 6800U modded, and Im pumping 1.75v into the card right now. No matter what I set the trimmer at I cannot get above 1.75v. I check the resistance, and it does go down, but the voltage refuses to go up. I figure with 1.8v I can hit my goal of 500 core.
Anyone have any ideas, or is the power regualtion just maxed out on the card?
Also, anyone have any luck flashing a GT bios to an Ultra, and which BIOS removes the cold bug? I think its time to freeze this card.

you defenitely shouldn't need 1.8V to hit 500 core...i hit 492 core at 1.4V and 0C ambient air on regular water cooling.

Well I do. I can run 470 at 1.5v, but then the card is pretty much maxed out.
Its more of a goal than anything.
So is there no work around?

Your voltage is too high as it is. People do 470 on stock volts easy...

Well, I can see that no one is going to help.
I wasn't asking for an opinion. I was asking how to do it.
I fail to see whats wrong with running 1.8v for the 5 mins that it takes to make a 3Dmark pass. Its not like these cards run 3d voltage all of the time.

Just because people do, doesn't mean that mine does. Im trying to make the best of what I have.

Your gonna kill what you have at that voltage... I won't go into the thermal properties of electrical components, but that is way too high... You are SEVERELY limiting the life of your card by running it at that voltage.

i ran 1.5V on my Ultra for only 5 mins and fried the board w/ with proper cooling

I run 1.55v 24/7 and have yet to have a single problem with the card.
Sounds like you had either bad luck or a bad card.

I can probable help you get more voltage, but I have no idea what is safe with these cards.
So heed the warnings and dont blame me if it smokes.
Can you please link me to the guide you used and the PDF for the vreg (if the guide is not very good)

This is the guide that I used. Im only looking to take the card up to 1.8v. If thats not enough, Im not going to try and push it harder.

Can you please identify the voltage regulator for me, I cant read the writing in the VR zone guide and they are noo lazy to link to the PDF.
Also a high res pic of that area would help allot.
