It's a Trifecta!

Fedex, UPS and the USPS delivered today! :)

Got my Swifty's and adapters in, so I can proceed with the 3.06 DX system...

Here is the chips...
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=29669&stc=1

And, need to figure out whether to get a new board or use the Winnie's MSI Neo 2 Plat for this. But I have high hopes for this chip. It is a Venice "E" rev. core.
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=29670&stc=1

Either this, or the 3500 "AS" Hammer is going under the Mach II ( at some point ).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And to top it off, I got a MO that I thought had never been sent. It was postmarked 4-1-2005 and the envelope it was in had been caught in a machine and mangled. Got here today ( 31 days later ), in a sturdy Postal Service outer envelope with glassine window showing the contents of the original.
While I'm in a picture posting mood, here is a few pic of one of the 2.8 800 mHz FSB ES's that "once were lost, but now are found". :)
Also, I bought some ballons to insulate the right pin; should be doing the volt mod for 1.525 to 1.6V, and setting up the 3.06's either Friday or this weekend.
Who posted the link for that mod, again? Was it LV_Dicedealer?
Sheeeet. Maybe it is the 12 days of Hanukkah, not Christmas.
Got my PSU for the Venice build ( and one for my DX ES system >> if Rod gets done whoopin Conrad's butt with it).
~~~~~~~~

My AS Thermal adhesive also came in along with some fans, so maybe I can get the 3.06 system in line temp wise.

These 480 Tagans are sweet. They run a little hot, but are stout.

Arrggh, where did I put those links?
If hadn't been working so many days in a row, I would have noticed this when it was posted.... 12 days in a row is too much.

Thanks, LV_DD. I went back and looked up your post. Have done the mod already.

Looking at that table causes me to wonder why we don't hacve to insulate any pins with the 1.3V to 1.6V mod.

the fourth table from the bottom of that page seems to indicate that we would need to...

Is there something about our PC-DLs that makes insulating that pin unnecessarry?

I am slow ( well, also not much time ), but getting there. The Venice system will be up soon. Got the heatsink mounted, but have to go take my brother out for his birthday. Maybe I'll get the system up later tonight ( hopefully ). If not, then tomorrow for sure.

That is a Thermalright XP-90 with a YS Tech 92mm fan.

I use the Swiftech's for Xeons. When it comes to cooling, if there is a Thermalright for the application, chances are, I'm using it. I must have over 20 of their heatsinks in use.

lol, so u like the xp-90 over the swiftechs?

Alright, cruncher up! I just sent in its' first candidates. 23 in 3 hours and 15 minutes. Not a world record, but not bad for an untweaked machine. Other than bringing the FSB up to 210, dropping the tRCD to 2, raising the VCore a tick and bumping the VDimm a few tenths, I've changed nothing.

I sold one of my machines the other day, but this will be a stronger replacement. The machine I sold was a Barton 2500+ box, good for about 110-125 candidates a day. I'm hoping for at least 180 cands/day from this, eventually.

Hell yeah! :)

I buy the Swiftechs for the Xeons; before I owned Xeons I'd never used a Swifty.
I know they have always enjoyed a great rep, but Thermalrights always seemed to beat them out in tests, sometimes not by much, but still superior

Thermalrights usually seem to be best in breed, so I don't bother with others.

meh, ohwell, i still like my swifty .... lol +90 mm tornado, i guess ill have to try a thermalright some time, does the xp120 fit on the msi neo2 plat?

[XC] serlv
05-15-2005, 06:33 PM
yes, it does.

from what i understand, the xp-90C ( the new model ), outdoes both the XP90 and the XP-120...

i have one on an insanely clocked 3500+ that uses the 90C. it keeps it as cool as possible, considering it is a hot chip anyway
( Clawhammer ).
