hi, i want to add a 2nd sempron rig, but now i dunno which sempron i should get.

.) AMD SempronĀ® S462 2800+ (2.00GHz) 73€ -> 384kB cache
.) AMD SempronĀ® S462 3000+ (2.00GHz) 82€ -> 512kB cache

each of them got 333mhz fsb,
is the amount of cache good for d2ol or could i go with the 2800+ ?

thx

I don't really know how much of a difference cache makes. The amount the CPU can crunch should (in theory) remain the same.

The cpu's cache is the amount of data it can quickly get for crunching. My guess is the extra little bit of money would help with larger units in D2OL.

I know more cache is better for games so I'd assume the same out of D2OL. Although, you'll definately want a more expert opinion on this.

the question is, if a cpu with more cache could crunch faster (produce more cands).
hum, i“ll wait :D

Has anyone tried the s754 Semprons? even though they are only 32 bit they have the AMD hypertransport tech. Cost is only a little bit more than socket A.

Cache doesnt make much difference to D20L I dont think. Its the actual cpu speed that you need.
