my 3DMark scores... how close am I to my goal?

PC in signature...

I haven't done any of the 'tweaks' listed in the sticky yet. I have heard that turning off V-Sync will give a boost, however I use CAT 5.4 and can't find a V-Sync option :confused: Also, I have RivaTuner... but don't have it "doing anything" yet... I have heard of a LOD tweak? Anyways, my current scores are...

3DMark01 - 29,559
3DMark03 - 14,370
3DMark05 - 6,809

AquaMark3 - 84,581

I would like to get...

3DMark01 - 30,000
3DMark03 - 15,000
3DMark05 - 7,000
AquaMark3 - 85,000

Is this possible with my current setup (after tweaking)?

SET TRP on your card from 5 to 6. Once you do that you should be able to get your ram up to 650 or better.

Only for 3D2001 win2k with sp4 and directx8.1 helped me. I get higher scores in the other 3 using win xp with directx9.

btw, These memory settings (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=55485) for the gfx gained me about 600 in 3d2001 (nature) and win2k instead of XP (260*10 2-2-2-5 gfx@stock) +1700.

I have heard of a LOD tweak?
LOD=Level Of Detail, which in my opinion is cheating, but here it is:

Run RivaTuner -->Main tab --> "Driver settings" click "Customize..." then click the second Icon from the left (It will say "Customize DirectDraw and Direct3D settings" on mouse move over).

Not sure if it's still the same with newer versions of RT tho.
**EDIT**You may wonder what to do with it, well you just have to play with it to see if your scores go up or down (I have a 'recommandation' list somewhere, but it never worked for me...better yet I gave up trying to beat some scores).

My answer would be: YES, just keep on tweaking.

About the OS, I can't give you a definitive answer as I have yet to play with a P4, XP or A64 setup, but I think that the OS that puts a lesser load on the CPU should at least rule in 3DMark2K1 (98/98SE/ME...and DX8.1).
But alot of people seem to disagree about the 'right' OS.
