This game basicly requires multiple people to play in a group. I don't want to go around with just some random people because they will steal stuff or have weird computer problems that prevent them from playing or whatever.

Does anyone from XS play this game? I bought it earlier today and it's becoming more and more difficult to progress without a party. (Not from game difficulty, but from arbetrary NPC checks that require you have more than one person in your group to progress)

I played in the beta on 56k for a while, but the 10 minute waits really get old..

The retail comes with 2 install CDs that have all of the content avalible at the time of release. They claim that their streaming system will allow them to release much more content easily, but I doubt that. (Why stream something for free when you could charge for it in an expansion pack?)

Well, I suppose it's better than nothing is what I was trying to say. At least you know you share a common hobby with them and all. Some of them are probably nice people so I recommend just giving them a shout and partying or whatever.

Run around doing quests. You're actually still in tutorial mode (which doesnt require partying up with other people really) ;)

There are some quests you get by sitting and watching the NPC's talk, too..

Should I drop the gold to create an XS guild?

I have a level 7 warrior/ranger that is really boring to play and a level 5 elementalists/mesmer that's alot of fun. The elementalist is still in pre-searing though, I'm collecting all of the extra skills and doing the bonus quests. The warrior is in post searing and has some upgraded equipment and a few hundred gold.

take it easy is the trick, and getting someone else to help eases a bunch of it.

I've done darn near everything pre-searing so far.. level 8 elementalist/monk at the moment, but I cant figure out where to get the rest of the elementalist upgraded armor stuff and if i've visited all the right people for skills or not...?

yeah me too. Almost at a whooping level 4 flying solo... I'm figuring out how to play a bit though. Bit overwhelmed at first but I got a few combos. I'm staying closer to that starting point and beating up a couple baddies at a time for XP and finally gettting the hang of fighting and what they want me to do. It will be a long road though. :D RPG noob, finally bit since this is supposed to be free monthly and good... and it is. :clap:

The first part is a tutorial. But telling you when it ends is a serious spoiler. They do a good job of making it better than a traditional MMOG tutorial area though (That's probably why many people think the whole game will be like that, because it's almost good enough to be a game, but it's lacking), but the real game is much better than the tutorial area.

Mykeyboardhurts is still in the tutorial zone doing all of the extra quests right now.


Edit: Just so you guys know, don't sell you dyes for anything less than 100G each. I got 250G for a silver and a red and I still felt a little ripped off. They are worth alot. I'm not sure of their true value yet though, it's at least 100G though.

i'm level 9 1/2 and still in pre-searing lol. Killing char at the moment, trying to get those level 10 bosses to see what they drop, or just to run around as a level 10 for a day for fun :D

black dye are going for 500-1500... i've got like 3 silver, 3 red, 3 orange, 3 green, etc.. i forget exactly.

Kaine (friend of mine) (using character name "Taylor Grove" ) wants to join the guild so I told him i'd ask first since he doesnt post here... ;)

There is a ingame "utility" that you need to use. It is rather restrictive. I don't think that that type of design would be possible.

It's not a MMORPG. Once you hit level 20 and have good gear it is basicly an RTS with each unit controlled by a human. (That's not a bad thing)

So, my question is, how the heck do I get ahead? do I use the bots to help me? you hire the dudes and they are like artificial team mates. Is this what I do? I am getting killed more often because I am trying to take everyone on by myself. oh, and if it says +fire 3 does that mean it would cause more damage to a fire enemy? or does that mean I use against ice enemy? Like I said, I am new to this crap. I think the last time I played anything remotely similar to this game was when I had a ps1 7 years ago and I played a game called Final fantasy 7. I never beat it, I got to the point where you race those giant chickens around a track and that's about it. Does this game have giant chicken races? I sure hope not. :(

if your weapon says fire damage 3-5 (for example) that means when you attack something it does 3 to 5 fire damage to it.

If what you are attacking has resistance to fire it will do less damage to it. If what you are attacking has vulnerabilities to fire it gets hurt more.

Just keep doing quests and you'll get to searing eventually. You can press L to see your current quests and a small green > or * will show up on your map where the quest objective is located at... go there, do what you gotta do, then do more.

I've got a character in pre-searing still, i'll give you some help and stuff when i'm on.

It's not playable at all. I dropped every single setting down to the lowest it would go in both the drivers and the game. A GF2 just can't handle it.

I just pushed this thing to its limits and it's barly playable now, definatly not fun though. It's doing 270/490, vmodded and everything. The mobo doesn't support changing of FSBs (I checked for set fsb and clockgen support too) so I'm stuck on a stock 1GHz P3 with 384MB of memory.

I just played a whole string of those random RTS team type battles. It was great. I only wish that you could wager gold on the outcome and win some gold after winning some battles. (Or lose it if you loose) I gained half a level, but didn't get any items which are actually what I really need.
