ive just got a pair of 2.0 lv xeons and a pch-dl to form the back bone of my server/cruncher but i can get the 1.6v u wire trick to work. the 1.5v works fine and the chips will happily sit at 3.1ghz at 1.47v but if i put in the 3rd u wire it doesnt work. when i trn on the fans turn but i get no beeps and no post.
ive tried the cpus seperately and both will work at 1.6v in the cpu1 socket but neither will work in cpu2 either with just cpu2 or as a pair.
ive replaced the the heat pad under the vr heat sink. and heatsink the other vr next to the agp slot as Jeff suggested. my temps are all low (under 45oC).
any ideas?
