:D Got some trouble - took me 2 days of work so maybe this helps You out some day.

Got my new X850XT bulk - only naked card and the power cable. Unfortunately it is a x800 series cable and the card refused to work. Till I found out this:

http://img168.echo.cx/img168/7281/powerplugx850xtpe3hk6pk.jpg

The normal cables have 3 wires - 2 ground and 1 12V. But some cables like mine have only one ground and the 12V.

Ground was set right above the 12V - but only works with the X800 series. If You want to use this cable for a X850 card You have to switch the ground to the mid like shown in the pic.

EDIT: Finally I almost forgot: SPECIAL THX TO SAAYA FOR HIS HELP AND FOR CREATING THE PIC !!!

No wonder mine didn't work when I tried to use the Molex -> PCI-E power adapter that came included.
At the time I just switched to the PowerStream's dedicated PCI-E power line, realizing I had it, been working flawlessly since.

:D Still on air @PE 540/ 594 without problems - did not tried further. Now I'll get the card under water......... ;)

Only thing I worry is the OVERDRIVE - there You can set the mem max. to 594  - is there a trick to get a higher possibility ?

Any actual pics of the power connector mod and the card before I set out and try it.

My X850 XT PE has been sitting next to me for about a month now as I couldnt get it to power up. Ive got a PC P&C SLI psu coming in a few days but it would be good to try this out now I suppose to see if it works. Dont want to kill my card though lol.

:D You can't kill the card if You leave the power where it is. Just check the ground wire. Pic in post #1.

It shows the plug as if You want to plug it into Your eye.
