This is my FIRST run tonight. My goal is 3.6Ghz. I was originally thinking that I was going to need watercooling to get there but I am not so sure now! Full load temps as reported by Sandra05 is about 40C! I know! I'm floored!

Sweet. And that's with the IWT HSFs, right?

This is with a couple of 800g Copper heatsinks. Non-Intel design. They bolt right to the case so they don't stress the MB. Plus they are pretty damn silent with the case closed!

Is there no end to the madness! (still going)

fcg- does this mean that you will have an extra pair of G5s? :stick:

bolt to the case?

doesnt that defeat the idea of putting contact pressure between the IHS and heatsink?

I am happy to report that after a few heat cycles on the AS5 (aircooling for now) that FULL LOAD temperature for the Xeons at 1.6V (3.2Ghz) is only 34-36C! Idle is about 28C. I wonder what watercooling will bring? Load temps of less than 30C for sure!

And this baby is now crunching for XS D2OL! That brings me to 10 nodes online. 4x Xeons and a P4EE. Hehehe...

thinks it's the iwill allowing the clocks? or did you just get some really nice xeons?

wow, nice :banana::banana::banana:s there FCG. When u get the G5's, u might want to find/do a vdroop mod ad might need more voltage. I can see 3.6-3.7 from these babies anytime soon.

I am now running a full load at 34-35C. I can't believe that as I have another pair of non-LV 3.0Ghz Xeons that run full load at about 56-57C. Simply amazing.

these boards are jumperless overclocking right?

And whats the max vdimm w/ and without modding?

Yes and no on the jumpers. You can set the FSB via BIOS but there are two jumpers that set the "stock" FSB for the CPU installed. Either "By CPU", 100Mhz, 133Mhz, 166Mhz or 200Mhz. These are also used to OC.

Max Vdimm w/o modding is 2.9V which is why I use TCCD with this MB. Check the Hot Deals section for a thread I put in there for OCZ TCCD (2x512) for only $199! That is EL Platinum Rev2 there!
