I guess some folks use a proggy called bootvis to speed it up. I had read about this proggy b4 the nforce2 cameout, some swear by it- and others say it doesn't help them so I dunno. I can tell you that I have the 8RDA+ and even though I upgraded from a kt266a mobo with a 1600 to this board with a 2600 my boot times are alot slower. Go figure.......... maybe the integration takes longer? the onboard nic or diagnostics? Beats me bro but this board def. takes longer than my old one.
Search google for bootvis, it may help you.

I think its that you need to disable the SATA controller with a jumper , do that, and come back to us :)

I get a slow startup when booting Win98SE. I think the boot delay in Win98SE might be caused by the dual NICs. I use the NVIDIA NIC (faster). Disabling the 3Com in the BIOS didn't help. I'm seeing ~ 45 second delay right *after* mouse drivers get loaded.

WinXP boots up in expected time.

im using my PCI network card for a NIC and have the onboard NICs disabled in BIOS

now would why would SATA be a problem causing windows to boot slow because i thought that was taking care of before windows booted you know when you have that black screen with white text asking you to enter the RAID config and detects the radi drives?

do any of you people having problems overclocking your cpus cause there is a piont with my cpu that it will boot and run 3d mark but takes forever to get in to windows. this of course was solved by stepping back in the oc a little:)

it shouldn't take 2-3 minutes to boot. have you checked for irq conflicts?

what part of the boot is taking a long time?

ok i counted and i say it takes just over 60 seconds to boot maby this is normal but i know its ALOT longer than me previous KT333 motherboards that take about 10-20 seconds:(

ok i was reading another forum and people were saying that it was spending ~50 seconds trying to "enumerate" firewire devices

so i disabled it in BIOS and it seems to be alot faster about 40 seconds to boot now witch i think is normal

now its time to overclock!

ha! i wouldn't have thought of that. i guess firewire does act kind of like scsi.
