I too was faced with this problem. When shelling out the cash for a new System you want to buy the best you possably can. I was faced with the Ultra or GT problem but since i got the 2 6800GT's for $520CAD a pice and the Ultra's were $799 CAD i went with the GT's the Ultra's are just not worth it IMHO. especially after reading this review

in most cases in games the difference is 1-4fps in sli mode. The extra cost just does not justify the performance gain even if money is not an issue like in my case i don't like throwing it away for nothing either.

I havn't posted any scores yet as i'm still playing around but i scored 24238 in 3dmark 2003 with a core speed of 450/1212 i am in no way dissapointed with these cards so don't feel like you shortchanged yourself buy not getting the ultras.

you should get an Asus 6800GT
I personnaly had a lot of video cards (6800/6800GT/6800U) and the best was my Asus 6800GT :)

I'm waiting the Asus Intel SLI NF4 to buy 2 Asus 6800GT "PCI-E" :D

I'd say go for ultra's. Better stock cooling and more oc potential.

i agree, without mods, most GTs max out at around 420 core. The ultras get .1V more to the core at stock, and most easily surpass 460 core speeds. Im wishing i would have bought the ultra. 'Course, when i got it, it cost $415, while ultras ould not be found for less than $600

6800 gt pci-e gets 75watts of power from pcie 16x slot configuration over old 8x agp 6800gt. so there shouldn't be any shortage of power.

Go for an asus branded 6800ultra like this one here - http://www.extremeprometeia.co.uk/acatalog/Graphics_Cards.html
they seem to be the best nvidia card to buy, as apparently they dont thermal throttle in the same way - meaning you can push them futher than other brand cards...

Asus is the best i think...

If you want, you can buy Asus Extreme 6800Gt...435/1280 (:

Can I get:

Stock clock speeds on a normal GT, not the BDG "OC", ASUS Xtreme, etc?
Stock on a normal Ultra?

Type of RAM on which, is it the same?

Core voltage on each card? Same voltage from PCI-E on both??

RAM volts?
