About a few days before the XL came out, plus was not that familiar with this forum, I have bought the ATI X800Pro (which I had to order as none suppliers stock these kind of cards at Malta plus the prices are ultra high, this card have cost me a fortune).
How does this card compare to the current High end end video cards? Will it last for some times?
Before this card I had an X600XT card, and I saw the difference!
Currently I am playing both FarCry (which I have completed) and Half Life 2 with all res set to the Max and all gizmos switched on. I do get some bumps at times but the rest is quite good.
My setup is as follows (by the way no overclocking, just standard settings)
1) Prescott 3.2 E Socket 775
2) 2 Gb Infenion DDR 400 with timing 2.5/3/3/8 200 Mhz
3) SL 865PE - 775 G with PAT Enabled
4) X800 Pro PowerColor Agp
5) XCLIO 480 W Power Supply
6) 4*160GB Samsungs HD

These are the results I am getting when benchmarking with 3Dmark 03.
Are they ok for my system configuration? I don't want to start overclocking, but, I have already tested the mem timings to 1Ghz and it was fine! No artifacts at all with ATI Tool, I did not continue to increase the clock speeds and left it a default.
I will start increasing the timing when it is required as currently I am happy with both FarCry and Half Life2 performance!
Thanks for your reply

Any X800Pro owners out there? what are your results with this video card?
How does it compare with the 800XL and the 6800 GT? One of the reasons I did not buy a 6800 GT at the time was that the 6800 GT is about 22 cm in lenght while the pro is smaller and less power hungry. Currently my system is hosted within a Cooler Master Centurion 2 case, and the internals are crammed therfore i had to opt for this video card! Now I am considerin to move to a Tsunami Dream Case !
How come ATI removed the overdrive option on this model? As it seems that the card does monitor its temps. as the fan speed change cause I can hear the speds rev up when some gaming is performed. My previous X600 Xt card which was about 2 times cheaper in price had the overdrive option! Are there any tools that overclock the GPU cores without damaging the card in the long run?

yea thats not bad for stock on a intel machine. my X800XL gets around 13k in 03 link in sig. riva tuner has temp display in it . bumping up the core and mem speeds a bit wont do much harm to your card

Get that biatch oced! The Pro's power comes from its heavy overclockability. Make sure you at least do the pencil volt mods. Completely on air I hit this at 650/582:

I don't want to touch anything yet, but surely will start modding a new system that I am building on scratch from parts I have collected, it will be based on a Socket 478. I will keep this system for normal use and the new for excessive modding.
If the need arise I will increase some timing from ATI tool, but no hard mods cause I don't want to invaidate any warranties plus I want a stable system.
I would have gone to the XL if I new before buying, but for now I will stay with this config!

What are the results for a 6800 GT when benchmarked with 3dmark03 (no overclocling or tweaking involved)
