Ok, I fitted the whole shebang, watercooling with pelt, AXP 2400, A7N8X , and its working .. !

But, temps worry me... hence, I am not sure if the Swiftech-Block is fitted correctly to the cpu , and I would rather not take it off unneccerily, so I need help to determine if its cooling okay.. Right now, After lots of Prime, its showing the cpu in AsusProbe as 10-12 C , and in bios about 28-30 , the water temperature is about 32C .. Does that look correct ? What should be the differance between the water temp and the Peltier temp (as measured from the socket) and what does the cpu diode usuallly report in difference from the socket temp ??

Thanks in advance !

Asusprobe is showing socket temp, where as bios is showing diode temp. Your temps are about where mine where when I used my 226w pelt... - In my opinion 226w pelts aren't enough anymore hehe.

You _may_ wanna tighten it down a smidget more and just make sure though.

I cant turn it anymore, its at the bottom of the screws :/ Will try to cool down the water a bit :) its running okay at 2400 MHz, at 1.85 Volt, and the mod lets me go to 2.05 right now, but it gets too hot ! :)

Thats almost the identical temps i was getting with my pelt 2600+ a7n8x setup under load(in asus probe). However if i go into bios and give it a minute itll go below 0 C. Whats your water setup. I cant wait to get my stuff back monday. I wanna get it stable and burned in so i can volt mod it. I was able to get my 2600 to 2552 stable enough to run sandra. Love this mobo

Just read sys response. How can asus probe be reading my temp va socket. I dont even see a diode in there? also wouldnt all the dialectric grease i filled the socket in screw up the temps?

No, it wouldnt .. and yes, its reading the socket, 100% certain... But I cant figure out how you are getting near 0 in Bios.. I am gettings 30 - 50 in Bios (ie, the cpu diode reader) What gives ? Could it be that I dont have good core contact ? And well, any smd component can be a temp reader, and the dielectric grease tranfers the cold from around the socket and so on, it doesent measure the heat of the cpu, more the coldness of things around the cpu :)

Yeah apparently there _IS_ a probe in there somewhere, but I don't know where. :\

A guy in another forum mentioned something about it being under the socket attached to a pin or something along those lines.......

Could be a surface mount thermister instead of those big ugly blue things.

Very possible its just on the board. Not one of those big thermister jobbers. I noticed something strange about temperature sensing on my last a7n8x. I dont have any fans plugged into any headers; however i have a Relay switched wired in which turns on my water pump and pelt power supply. For some reason it reports RPMS in the motherboards bios. The problem with the rpms it was reporting was that it would randomly go to 0. It would hover around 3000 for a second then go to 0 for a second fluctuating alot. What i noticed when it would shoot to 0(i think, it might have been vice versa) my temp would raise about 30 degrees. So one second my temp would be 7 degrees then the next it would be 37. THe asus probe in windows would show a steady 7-12 depending on load.
