Ok so I put a 6.3V 3300Uf cap on there for the memory and it keeps hanging no matter what. I cant figure out how to check the damned voltage now so I cranked the pot to hell and back and nothing but a black screen. This is really pissing me off. It still maxes at 950. I HAD 980 right when I got the card back somehow but no more. Core better get some DAMN nice OCs at 1.7V with ice water tomorrow....

Or maybe the ground wire on my cap is to long? (like 4" long or more...)

Always the capacitormod won't help or work. Just did the core capmodd but didn't win anything more than more artiufacs :(
But I thought it would be a diffrence when you have high vmem.
Do you gonna do some 3dmark01 with the ice water? Come with resultats, wanna see if 1.7 helped you.

That's God's way of telling you to go Asus GE ;)

Seriously though, you have a fantastic result there but you are competing against assoles who have 2ns GDDR3 cards yet do not know their arse from their elbow and still put up a far better score.

Ok, tongue in cheek, but you get the drift.

Mind you, I'm on the other end of the stick in the 6600 class, I'm in your postition. Not going to give up though ;) Good luck.

I know I have good results but Vddr AND memory cap mods giving ZERO increse is extremely disapointing :( Next upgrade is diago/x800 I hope :D

Never knew you and kunaak were assoles who don't know basic anatomy

I'd try with ice water but a certain moron named afireinside forgot to freeze some water before he went to bed last night and the ice maker on our fridge is broken so nothing until tomorrow... Gona have to try shortened wires on cap mod soon.

Oh yeah, would be nice if I could figure out how to check Vddr volts now with cap mod... any help?

You can measure it from the capacitors "+" leg.

I tried to do some 3dmark01, but something went wrong. All graphic tests were a lot slower than usually  . Perhaps I must reinstall win2k, but now I'm so lazy so Ã:banana:t probably take some time before I do it.

those people really do annoy me. Without them, i'd be way higher up in the orb. And if i had a A64 CPU.

Ok I got 960 to run once than 950 wouldn't work so I pulled mod off and tried core on ice water. Even at 1.7V, over 475mhz would produce a nature score of 88fps. This card sucks :stick:

a nature score of 88mhz? If you mean 88fps, then that's not a bad nature for a 6800nu.

Yes, 88fps, and considering my WR run was 267.3fps nature, IT BLOWS!

that must have been either SLI, or at 640x480. For a modded and overclocked 6800nu, 70fps is a reasonable score, and 88 is bloody amazing (for single card)

70FPS :ROTF:. do you really mean nature in 3dmark01? There can a good LE/NU can do about 270fps. I think even a 6600 should do 88 easy.

afireinside: That's pitty. 475mhz isn't much for that voltage&cooling. Perhaps 1.7 is too much for ice water.
So you didn't succed to measure the vmem voltage?

only 267fps ;) i have got 275fps on air :D, not that 267fps isn't great.
But now I only get 230fps, don't know what has went wrong. :(

I know... I tried down to 1.6V as well. Temps were like 35C loaded. Maybe I need better cooling? Or maybe the single molex and 6800nu PCB can't supply enough power?

Mem voltage measured fine. I tried everything before pulling it off when 950 wouldn't run. Maybe I'll give this card another shot today but I'm pissed right now.

no i was talking 3d03. Sorry, i'm not a huge bencher of 3d01 (having an athlonxp and crap memory, theres no point really).

What clocks did you got with 1.6 then? Don't know what temps normally are with ice water, but thinks it's okay especially with that voltage.
Have heard 1,6 or more is too much already for a 6800GT and it seems probably that 1,6-1,7v is too much for one molex.

Did you some benches with 475core?

don_vercetti: I already thoughted that you don't meant 3dmark01. 88 in Mother nature would be a dream :D

lol yeah it is. for us poor non 6800 ultra people anyway.

Nah no 475 core runs. Only 15mhz higher so not worth it. I'll re run when I get my DD units made. Maybe 500/950 card 3.1 CPU?
